Description
Beneteau 41.1 2022
Current Model Beneteau Oceanis 40.1
The Beneteau Oceanis 40.1 (2022) is a remarkable example of modern cruising yacht design, blending innovation, performance, and comfort in a truly compelling package. At the heart of its innovation is a negatively sloped forward bow stem, a design feature that not only enhances wave-piercing ability but also extends the waterline length—translating directly into improved speed and smoother motion through chop.
A standout element of the 40.1’s hull is the full-length hard chine, which runs from bow to stern. This engineering approach does far more than add visual distinction—it carries the beam well forward, maximizing interior volume in the forward cabin and increasing deck space for safer and more comfortable movement. This expanded beam, supported by the chine, also significantly boosts form stability, making the yacht more resistant to heeling and improving comfort both at sea and at anchor. The hard chine extending aft further enhances this stability and allows the boat to carry more sail area efficiently—without sacrificing control.
The swept-back spreaders are another subtle yet effective performance enhancer. By reducing weight and windage aloft, they improve the boat’s stiffness and contribute to a more upright sailing posture, reducing unnecessary heel. This not only improves performance but also enhances crew comfort over long passages.
Under the waterline, the Beneteau 40.1 is equipped with twin rudders, which provide multiple advantages: reduced hydrodynamic drag, increased control and grip as the boat heels, and excellent handling responsiveness. The result is nearly perfect tracking with minimal weather helm, allowing the helmsperson to maintain a light touch and steady course even in fresh breezes.
Altogether, these innovations result in a yacht that is exceptionally balanced, stable, and performance-oriented, while still offering the spacious, luxurious accommodations expected from a modern cruiser. The Beneteau Oceanis 40.1 (2022) is not just a sailboat—it’s a well-rounded sailing machine tailored for those who want performance without compromise on comfort.

FACTORY NOTES
Following in the wake of her elder sister the Oceanis 51.1, this 40-foot cruiser, with a new hull design by Marc Lombard, offers unrivalled deck volume and interior space, an there are no concessions to performance. The 12-metre long Oceanis 40.1 is available in different layouts, draughts and rigs, adapting to the most demanding sailor’s cruising requirements and satisfying their need for comfort and pleasure under sail.
Exterior Design
How can you enjoy life at anchor as much as sailing?
With the innovative flared hull design of the Oceanis 40.1, and steps extending over a third of the bow, BENETEAU has broken new ground but made no concessions. The result is a hull that has true speed potential and is stiff under sail. Above the waterline, her deck plan and ultra-spacious interior by Nauta Design is unheard of on a boat this size. You cannot help feeling that you are aboard a 45 foot cruiser!
Interior Design
With a walnut or light oak ambiance, the styling of the interior by Italian designers Nauta, is remarkably bright and excels in the skilful arrangement of the living spaces. She is available with two, three or four cabins and a C-shaped galley on the starboard, offering lots of storage and a spacious worktop. On the port side, there is a large saloon with a table and a removable bench, and a chart table at the foot of the companionway provides ample working space. Everything is modular, so that everyone can live the way they want and enjoy sailing wherever the wind takes them.
