Outremer 51

VAST is a meticulously maintained Outremer 51 (Hull #53), delivered in May 2018 in the sought-after 3-cabin Owner’s Layout. Originally owned by German owners and under German registration, VAST is maintained to the highest standards. The vessel is currently located in Charleston, SC, following a comprehensive 2025–2026 refit by Safe Harbor Wando River.

Key Features & Recent Upgrades (2025-2026) Safety & Navigation Refresh: New B&G Halo 20+ Radar, new ICOM fixed VHF, and new Viking 8-person liferaft. Anchoring System: Upgraded to a 35kg Ultra Stainless Steel anchor with 80m of stainless steel chain and Ultra Swivel. 

Rigging & Hull: Standing rigging inspected with new upper diamond stays installed (2025). New 3-layer Seajet 039 bottom paint and PropSpeed on propellers (2026).   Energy Efficiency: Solar array upgraded by Outremer to 800W on reinforced davits, additional 4th Mastervolt lithium house battery installed by Safe Harbor Wando River. 

Mechanical & Propulsion Engines: Twin Volvo D2-40 diesel engines (approx. 1,700 hours), oil temperature control upgrade. New starter batteries 2023/2024. Recent Service: New raw water pumps and stainless steel exhaust elbows installed. Propellers: Folding 3-bladed propellers.   Fuel Capacity: Dual 270L tanks for extended motoring range, equipped with Racor fuel f ilters/water separators.

Sails & Rigging   Mast: Fixed aluminum mast.   Mainsail: 2018 Hydranet square-head mainsail (original upgrade) with 2022 North Sails lazy bag.   Headsails: Hydranet Jib (original upgrade), Code 0 with furler, and Code D with furler (Incidence).   Winches: 4x Lewmar ST50 electrical winches (roof and cockpit). 

Performance: Carbon bulkheads (mast and aft), carbon bowsprit, and carbon tillers with port/starboard helm seats, carbon bimini. 

Electronics & Navigation   Full B&G Suite: H5000 pack, Zeus 12” unit at wheel, Zeus repeater at internal station, and autopilot.   Communication: Vesper Marine AIS, Inmarsat Fleet One, Pepwave GSM Router, and GoFree WiFi. (Starlink Gen 2/Mini antennas on board/optional) Monitoring: Masthead camera and Bolken barograph.

Electrical System   House Battery Bank: 4x 12V 2500W/180Ah Lithium-Ion batteries.   Charging: Mastervolt Combi charger/inverter (100A/2200W).   Hydrogenerator: Watt&Sea Racing unit with a new converter (2025).   Solar: 800W mounted on davits (Outremer upgrade 2021). 

Interior & Comfort Layout: 3-cabin Owner's version with custom Bamboo wood finish throughout. Climate: Webasto heating system in main salon and both hulls; 5x fans throughout. 

Galley: White Corian countertops, brushed stainless steel tap, 100L fridge, and 90L freezer. (12 V fridge/freezer unit, DOMETIC) 

Owner’s Hull: Custom King Size+ berth, custom wine/bottle shelving (2021).   

Guest Accommodations: Athwartship King Size berth (aft) and convertible bunks (forward). Washing machine (3kg), custom hanging bars in guest shower for wet gear (Outremer) Water: 100L/H 12V watermaker and dual-exchanger water heater.

Deck & Safety Bimini: Carbon fiber bimini with integrated LED lighting (white/red) and Fusion speakers. Cockpit: 2 convertible tables with telescoping legs, full enclosure, Batyline shades, and Silvertex Titanium cushions throughout.   

Additional: Carbon foldable gangway (2018), protective skegs for saildrives, and lifeline system alongside coachroof (2 X each side).   

Tender: Highfield 310 dinghy with 20HP Honda outboard (2021), fully serviced 2025/2026.
