Launched in 2016, this Outremer 4X embodies a rare balance of performance, reliability, and simplicity. Designed for those who wish to sail far, for long periods, and with complete confidence, it offers a proven combination of controlled speed, onboard safety, and comfort for long cruising.

Built in La Grande-Motte by one of the most renowned shipyards in the offshore catamaran world, ONYX is an optimized evolution of the Outremer 45. Extended to 48 feet (compared to the original Outremer 45), reinforced with structural carbon bulkheads, and equipped with a rotating carbon mast, it further enhances what an offshore cruising catamaran can do while remaining accessible and manageable with a small crew.

Its design is precise, efficient, and made for sailing. Its carbon-reinforced keels, streamlined appendages, and powerful sail plan allow it to maintain high averages with ease. The helm is responsive yet gentle; this 4X can cover more than 250 nautical miles per day in good conditions — all while maintaining a healthy and reassuring behavior. However, ONYX is not a boat solely built for speed. It is a boat built to last, to protect, and to sail far, in complete serenity.

Its wardrobe of sails, signed by Incidence and Delta Voiles, is complete: battened mainsail in Hydranet, self-tacking jib, Genoa on roller, gennaker and staysail, storm jib and storm bag— all easily maneuverable thanks to Harken winches (including one electric) and the Facnor furler. The standing rigging in Kevlar and the bowsprit with a storage system ensure efficiency and reliability in any conditions encountered.

Inside, ONYX offers a true living space. In the 4-cabin version, there are 2 dedicated bathrooms, a large storage area, and a versatile forward cabin. The saloon is panoramic, bright, offering an unobstructed 360° view of the sea, excellent ventilation, and a simple layout designed for the open sea. The kitchen and chart table are functionally connected, and everything on board has been configured for maximum autonomy: 360 Ah lithium batteries, 480 W solar panels, Mastervolt inverters and chargers, Dessalator watermaker 90 L/h.

Thus, ONYX can sail far and long, without dependence on land.

The navigation electronics rely on a complete B&G system: two Zeus plotters, radar, Class B AIS, autopilot with remote control, fixed and portable VHF. All of this is complemented by a Starlink Mini connection, to stay connected even in the middle of the Atlantic.

In terms of safety, ONYX is fully equipped for offshore sailing with a Plastimo 8-person liferaft (revised 2023), an EPIRB beacon, personal AIS beacons, lifelines and IOR pole, radar reflector,

Every piece of equipment has been designed for offshore cruising: carbon crossbars, Lofrans windlass, Highfield dinghy of 3.2 m with Torqeedo electric motor and batteries. It is a reliable, coherent boat, ready to go.

A significant refit was carried out in 2025 for an amount of over 100,000 €, including complete engine maintenance, replacement of standing rigging, lifelines, exterior covering, sail revision, and various equipment. This refit reflects the owners' constant motivation to keep their boat in exemplary condition.
