COMING SOON!
The Valiant 50 represents the pinnacle of the Valiant Yachts legacy—a line of offshore cruising sailboats renowned for combining high performance with true bluewater durability. Its lineage traces back to the revolutionary Valiant 40, designed by Robert Perry in the early 1970s. That iconic model broke convention, pairing a fast, performance-oriented hull with the rugged features of a serious ocean cruiser, and helped define the “performance cruiser” category.
Building on the success of the Valiant 40 and later the Valiant 47, the Valiant 50 debuted in the late 1990s with a longer waterline, greater speed, expanded interior volume, and enhanced load-carrying capacity. Each yacht was crafted semi-custom at the Valiant Yachts facility in Gordonville, Texas, often with owners deeply involved in the fit-out of their vessels.
Among the final hulls produced, Hull #114, CANEEL (2007), a one-owner boat, embodies the evolution of the design. She features a beautifully crafted cherry interior, a convertible salon berth, and a centerline dining table with integrated storage. Modern comforts include dual-zone refrigeration, a Spectra watermaker, and twin reverse-cycle air conditioning units. Forward V-berth cabinetry and structural reinforcements reflect the level of customization Valiant offered to serious passagemakers. The electrical system is meticulously engineered, with a 7.6 kW generator, a 71hp Westerbeke engine, and insulated hull and plumbing systems designed for long-range cruising comfort.
Production of the Valiant 50 concluded with the factory’s closure in the late 2000s, marking the end of a remarkable chapter in American yacht building. Today, Valiant Yachts remains in business and continues to support Valiant owners around the world—ensuring that these exceptional yachts remain seaworthy and cherished for generations. CANEEL is now available for sale—a rare opportunity to own a truly special, well-crafted yacht, ready to deliver both comfort and confidence on any voyage.
