Description
The Oceanis Clipper 331 was a resounding success for Beneteau offering super accommodation with excellent sailing capabilities. With over 800 built over the 5-year production run, the 331 became the standard by which others were judged. Handling under sail is easy with the single line reefed mainsail and, particularly good for light or short-handed crews, the furling headsail is 110% size rather than a big heavy overlapping genoa.
Fox's Yacht Sales sold "Nightjar" to her current owner in 2012. She has been lightly used and has received a number of upgrades to her equipment, with on-going maintenance being carried out throughout. She is an aft cockpit, lift keeled, wheel steered sloop (with the more spacious 2 cabin owners’ version) offering great accommodation (with the necessary below-deck heating), in addition to her excellent sailing characteristics.
With a draught of only 0.9m (36") with the keel up, the much sought after lift-keel versions allow greater flexibility and navigation in UK tidal waters. The vendors have enjoyed exploring the charms of English coastal villages such as Whitstable once the tide has gone out and Nightjar is resting upright on her wing keels, allowing passengers to easily disembark and walk to neighbouring restaurants and pubs. They’ve enjoyed navigating the Norfolk Broads, travelling up the River Stour to the centre of historic Sandwich, exploring Rye, the Suffolk coast, and the easy handling up the River Crouch amongst other summer outings.
Accomodation
The interior layout offers six berths with two sleeping cabins separate from the main accommodation with good headroom and plenty of ventilation throughout. The Forward cabin has a good-sized double berth with infill, a hanging locker and opening hatch.
The Saloon has a C-shaped settee berth to starboard with infill to create a double berth, a large folding dining table and a settee berth to port with chart table at aft end.
The Galley is to port with a tthree-burner gimballed gas cooker with grill (replaced 2019), stainless steel sink, hot and cold pressurised water system (heated via engine and immersion heater) with approximately 325 litres freshwater capacity and large top opening 12 volt refrigerator.
The Separate heads compartment has a marine toilet, shower and washbasin.
The aft cabin has very generous double berth with hanging lockers.
