Manufacturer Provided Description
Designed by the Berret - Racoupeau team, the Oceanis 36 CC was added to the Beneteau range of Center Cockpit boats in 2000. The hull features the strong Beneteau structural hull liner, which ensures an even distribution of rigging stresses while providing rigidity and easy maintenance. The cast iron keel is solidly bolted to the structure and epoxy treated for anticorrosion protection. Its moderate depth (1.53 m draft) and bulb - wing shape are designed to combine performance and safety. The hung rudder is held by a composite stock which goes all the way up to the deck, providing a solid rudder unit. The insulated engine housing is located underneath the cockpit and all mechanical components are easily accessible. There is ample room to accommodate a generator. As on all Oceanis models, the propeller shaft is protected by a skeg. The cockpit, in slatted teak, is well protected from sea spray, and the Beneteau windshield is available as an option. Three stowage lockers in the stern provide storage for mooring ropes, fenders, and the gas cylinders for the galley. On the bow, the windlass comes as standard, and is fitted on deck to ensure easy operation. The whole boat is surrounded by a solid teak bulwark. The companionway has curved steps that are not at all steep, and the handrails are immediately within reach. The symmetrical saloon table along the boat's axis is roomy and light, and the leaves fold down to give easy access to the forward guest cabin. Access to the owner's aft cabin is via the port gangway past the galley. In the cabin is a large double bed to starboard - it is a real bedroom in which you can move around quite comfortably. The galley is well equipped, with its double stainless steel sink, hot and cold pressurized water system, stove, and refrigerator. From the owner's cabin, the big head compartment on the starboard gangway leads past the chart table and back to the saloon. The cherry stained (or optional teak) finish is in the pure Oceanis CC tradition: restful shapes, efficient use of space, and cupboards aired naturally through their canework doors. Ventilation is provided by numerous hatches and opening side portholes in addition to three dorade vents.
