Construction

RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to 1998.  

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• Regatta hull laminate in vinylester and Kevlar reinforcements (5 tonnes lighter than standard Swan 60).
• Hull painted in navy blue with Alex Seal paint – May/June 2024.
• Antifouling – October 2024.
• Regatta deck laminate.
• Composite chain plates.
• SOTTO VOCE was at build optimised for racing (as well as cruising) use. Her deck layout was designed accordingly.
• Teak in cockpit, side decks, coaming and coach roof.
• Hydraulic opening transom swim platform – rams serviced 2024.

 

Keel & Rudder:

• Regatta fin bulb keel, lead installed inside of bilge.
• Ballast: 11,200kg.
• JP3 rudder bearing – new December 2024.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

• Perkins M135 diesel engine, 135hp.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

• Engine hours – approx. 7,000 (hour metre currently not working).
• Engine overhaul in 2021, including overhaul of the inter-cooling system.
• Engine last serviced November 2024.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

• MaxProp 3-blade feathering propeller.
• Spare 2-blade feathering propeller.
• Propeller inspection window – new 2021.
• Cutlass bearing and deep-sea seal – new December 2024.
• Twin stainless steel steering wheels.

Electrical Systems

Voltage Systems:

• 24V/12V/220V.

 

Battery Banks:

• 300Ah Hawker 12x2V domestic battery bank – new 2021.
• 168Ah Hawker 12x2V radio battery bank – new 2021.
• 105Ah 24V engine start battery – new 2021.
• Service batteries located under the floor of the forward guest cabins.

 

Battery Chargers:

• Mastervolt 80Ah battery charger – new 2021.
• Mastervolt 24/25 battery charger.

 

Generator:

• 9.4kW Westerbeke generator.
• Generator hours – approx. 3,228 as of July 2025.
• Generator last serviced: November 2024.

 

Shore Power:

• 220/115v.

 

Other Electrical:

• Mastervolt 24/2500w inverter.
• USB charging in all cabins.

Plumbing Systems

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

• Hot/cold pressure water system, via engine or 220V with:
• 60-litre 220V Isotherm boiler.
• Freshwater and seawater foot pumps at galley.
• Hot/cold fresh water shower on bathing platform.

 Watermaker:

• Osmosea 100 litres/hour – new 2021.

 

Bilge Pumps:

• Automatic and manual bilge pumps.

Tankage

Fuel:

• 1,038 litres in 4 stainless-steel tanks, located under the saloon (two on each side).
• Fuel tank level gauges.

 Fresh Water:

• 600 litres in 2 stainless-steel tanks, located under the saloon (one on each side).

 

Grey/Blackwater Holding Tanks:

• Blackwater tank for aft head only.
• Grey water sumps at each shower and washbasin, electric and manual pump out.
• Galley drain directly overboard.

Navigation Equipment

• All new B&G system in November 2021.
• B&G H5000 Hydra+ wind, speed, depth.
• 4 x H5000 race display in cockpit (on aft facing side of central cockpit coaming) and a TWA display central.
• 2 x H5000 graphic display over the companionway, with an Autohelm ST7000 control between them – plus.
• 1 x H5000 graphic display in owner´s cabin.
• 1 x Zeus3 S9 MFD at chart table.
• Raytheon Autohelm autopilot drive system.
• Raymarine autopilot ST7000, control units x 2 - in aft and in centre cockpit.

• SOTTO VOCE has a custom interior layout but with standard Nautor high quality finish.

• Yellow Alcantara upholstery in saloon and owner´s cabin, as new.
• Full set of cream protective covers for upholstery.
• The two forward guest cabins can be made into one large cabin by removing the partition bulkhead.
