Description
Seaspray Yacht Sales, Langkawi, proudly presents this beautiful Tayana 55. She has never been in charter.
She is a recent arrival to Rebak Marina, after being actively cruised, and a full time live aboard home. Her owner had her on the market last year, but decided to remove her for use again over the last 7 months. He is now putting her back on the market due to his living in Europe and having different priorities there.
She has an immediate and consuming sense of safety, solidness, style, and strength. She is a classically built boat from an era where strength and performance went hand in hand with interior practicality, comfort and safety.
Lady Sunshine is a center cockpit, teak decked yacht, with classic lines from the drawing board of Dutch designer Peter Beeldsnijder. The Tayana sailing yachts were very successful models built by the Taiwanese shipyard Ta-Yang Yacht Building Co. During the 1980s until the mid-1990s. Safe but spacious centre cockpit and plenty of living space on deck on wide running decks, the open flush deck in front of the mast and the large sundeck aft. Traditional teak interior with many beautiful details. A particular blue water feature of the Tayana 55's interior is the spacious engine room with a veritable workshop, including workbench and tool lockers, with easy access through a door from the main saloon.
This Tayana 55 has the interior layout with a large, luxurious owner's cabin aft across the entire beam of the yacht, including an en suite owner's heads compartment with separate shower. Two further cabins forward of the saloon. This owner's yacht has had continuous maintenance by professional service.
The sail-handling winches are all on the cockpit coamings, within easy reach of the wheel, allowing for short-handed sailing. The cockpit access is an easy transition from the expansive aft deck. The extended cockpit coamings provide comfort & good protection for the crew, as does the fixed wind screen and the dodger which comes some way aft of the companionway. The wide side decks allow easy passage forward when under way. She is set up for easy single handed sailing.
Since her introduction the Tayana 55 has been a preferred design for liveaboard and offshore cruising for couples and families.
Lady Sunshine is no exception. You can see by the photos, and inventory, that she has charm, warmth and continued love and maintenance. The video walk through will be live on the YouTube channel, Dream. For. Sail. As well as new information and photos on Instagram Dream. For. Sail.
Rebak Marina itself is a perfect place to introduce yourself to your new boat. A resort marina, with wet and dry berths, she has resort facilities which include a swimming pool, private beach, tennis courts and restaurants and bars. Langkawi is a duty free island, with growing international marine recognition, right on the border of Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia. Remarks from the Owner
"This boat was originally built for the owner of Tayana dealerships in the U.S., which is why it features a unique layout with a forward cabin separated from the rest. The watertight door enhances safety and keeps the boat afloat even in case of frontal impact. I'm the third owner. After being delivered to the U.S., she was sailed to Langkawi where she remained at Rebak Marina. I purchased her in 2016 and have spared no expense in upgrades and maintenance. She's perfectly suited for long-term liveaboard life — I’ve comfortably stayed onboard for 3–4 months at a time without needing to come to shore. The 2-meter ceilings, comfortable layout, and separate engine room make life aboard easy and enjoyable. She has never been chartered — only used for private cruising across Indonesia, India, Malaysia, and Thailand.”
