Description

A highly desirable yacht - an early Frers Nautor Swan 46 MKII, with those recognisable good looks and a every bit a sailors yacht! MASQUERADE is a well found example and much loved in her current ownership. She has been subject to a continuous programme of updating. Safe and sea kindly cruising but she can also show her metal around the cans and offshore. The MKII also sports a great layout below decks with a centre line double berth aft and ample berths forward for friends and family.

Construction

RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to 1998.

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:
  • GRP hull built by the hand laid up method, using alternate layers of mat and roving.
  • Stiffeners are laid up over foam cores and reinforced with unidirectional glass.
  • Teak deck replaced in 2015.
  • Coppercoat treatment to hull and appendages in 2018, refreshed 2023.
  • Deck is of foam cored GRP sandwich construction.
  • Structural bulkheads are of marine grade plywood, laminated to hull and deck.
  • Anodized aluminium toe-rail, bolted through hull / deck joint.
  • White gelcoat hull with blue cove stripes.
  • White hull with blue cove line and coaming stripe.

Keel & Rudder:
  • Elliptical rudder is of foam filled GRP with high-tensile, tubular, stainless steel stock and roller bearings.
  • Rudder removed and rudder bearings replaced 2018.
  • Deep draft lead bulb keel.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

  • 1 x Yanmar 4JH54 (2010).
  • Engine removed and new exhaust system fitted 2022.
  • Cutlass bearing replaced 2022.
