Description

The Hylas 44 is a semi-custom. moderate displacement, yacht that has the pedigree to take you offshore and anywhere you like. This manufacturer has a long history of building boats of quality and value, and the performance of this boat will not disappoint. She raced in the Annapolis to Bermuda Race in 2016 and 2018.  She carries 864 SF of sail and is at her best on a beam reach in 18-20 Knots. She also sails very well in light air.

The hull was built with hand laid fiberglass, and the decks are cored with Airex foam. This makes the decks stiff, light and well insulated. The interior is spacious. It includes 2 cabins, fore and aft. The forward cabin has an offset queen berth, with plenty of storage and a head and shower which can also be accessed from the salon. The galley is located on the starboard side leading back to the aft main cabin which provides great security at sea. The aft cabin can also be accessed on the port side after passing the NAV Station and a head with separate shower stall. The salon is perfect for relaxing or entertaining. It can also provide another double berth.

    Accommodations

Guest Stateroom

Starting forward is a generous guest cabin with queen berth, bench seat locker, drawers and additional storage areas under the berth. There is a private entry door to the guest head with second door aft to provide direct access to the main salon.

Main Salon

The main salon features U-shaped full-length settee to port with two lockers and double shelf outboard. A full-length starboard settee converts to double berth. Forward of the settee is a double locker shelf. A varnished teak table serves a party of six comfortably. Direct port and starboard access to the aft stateroom. All entryways have laminated teak entry moldings. Cushions are covered in Sunbrella. Varnished teak interior. Four additional reading lights (two in main salon and two in galley).

Master Stateroom

Large centerline queen berth (new foam 2021) with generous stowage areas. 3 drawers with shelf and locker above. Two hanging lockers, one with full mirrored door. Two shelf locker with book shelf between. Double lockers and double sliding lockers below. Jewelry box to starboard.

Ensuite head with separate stall shower with teak grating. Head features Corian countertop and sink (2019), hot and cold pressure water and 12-volt shower sump pump. Dual access to main cabin.

Hull

Light gray nonskid on deck. Completely hand laminated fiberglass hull built from one piece mold to provide a strong seamless monolithic structure.
