Description

PRELIMINARY LISTING - MORE DETAILS AND PHOTOS TO FOLLOW

This beautiful Hood design was built to a high standard by the fine craftsmen at Bristol Yachts to be a capable and comfortable blue water performer. With her solid fiberglass construction, skeg-hung rudder, centerboard keel, and luxurious two-cabin/two-head layout, the 47.7 has earned a reputation for seaworthiness and cruising comfort.  She is easily handled by two people thanks to her electric primary winches and electric roller furling mainsail with lines led aft to the cockpit.  The interior is finely finished in varnished cherry and the spacious master stateroom features the desired island queen berth with abundant storage and an ensuite head & shower.  Legacy is ICW friendly with a mast height of 62' 6" and board-up draft of 5'.

Legacy was recently donated to a Maine Sailing Charity and is available through a term charter arrangement with an option to purchase.  Please call for details.

Accommodations

Legacy features a luxurious 2-stateroom, 2-head layout finished in varnished cherry with a teak & holly cabin sole.  Starting forward in the guest cabin you'll find a large V-berth with hanging locker and ample storage drawers and lockers all finished in select cherry with a bright finish. Moving aft you'll find a guest head / shower to port and an additional hanging locker to starboard.
The main saloon in the 47.7 is a huge space with a custom, curved dinette to port and twin, upholstered swivel chairs to starboard. Above the swivel chairs you'll find brackets to set up temporary pipe berths for additional crew.  Abundant storage is available in several lockers, shelves and drawers outboard of the dinette and settee.  The saloon space is especially bright due to the installation of two additional fixed ports in her hull sides, one midships on the starboard side and one behind the dinette cushions.  Multiple overhead hatches and several stainless steel opening ports provide additional light and ventilation.

Moving aft from the saloon you'll find the U-shaped galley to starboard and a forward-facing Nav station to port, followed by a walk-through passage into the aft cabin. Engine and generator access is provided along the inboard side of the walk-through passageway along with DC & AC switch panels.

The aft Master Stateroom is a thing of beauty, featuring a walk-around island berth, two hanging lockers, a bureau with multiple drawers, numerous small storage spaces and access to the private aft head and shower.
