Description
Namaste is a beautifully upgraded 1989 Catalina 42 (Mark I) in the desirable 3-cabin Pullman layout and she’s been thoughtfully refit for real cruising.
Over the past 10 years, the owner has gone through the boat system by system, upgrading the things that actually matter. The electrical system has been rewired and now running a full Victron setup with 400Ah of lithium, 3000W inverter, 440W of solar, and remote monitoring capability. Charging is handled by a Balmar high-output alternator paired with a Wakespeed external regulator.
She also features a complete new B&G electronics package with radar and AIS (transmit & receive), dual chartplotters, autopilot with remote, and a new roller furling system with new standing and running rigging. The mast was rebuilt in 2024, and a never flown asymmetrical spinnaker from Ballard Sails is included.
With Wallas diesel heat, new Iverson dodger and full enclosure, 120 gallons of fresh water, two heads, and a 10.5’ RIB with 20hp Tohatsu, Namaste is properly equipped for Pacific Northwest or extended coastal cruising.
If you’re looking for a turn key cruiser that already has the upgrades done this is one worth stepping aboard.
Accommodations
Step aboard Namaste and you’re welcomed into a protected cockpit with a new Iverson dodger, bimini, and full enclosure. Down the companionway, the salon opens up with Catalina’s wide-beam feel and generous seating to port. There’s excellent natural light and plenty of storage throughout. To starboard, the galley is well laid out with a 3-burner stove and oven, deep multi-level refrigeration, and ample dry storage designed for extended cruising. Just aft of the galley is the aft head, easily accessible from the salon and guest cabins Moving forward, the Pullman-style owner’s stateroom to port features a large berth and great storage. The forward head includes an electric toilet and shower, creating a comfortable private suite.
Electrical & Power Systems
Over the past several years, the owner has re-engineered the electrical system from the ground up. The wiring behind the chart table and electrical panel, an area that is notoriously cluttered on many older boats, has been completely cleaned up and reorganized. Everything is properly labeled, run and tied into positive and negative bus bars. All major power components are brought into a dedicated systems locker.
