Description
Easy sailing concept, executed with roller jib and lazyback cover
This Huitema (self-built) sea skiff was built in 1978 and equipped with a Farryman diesel engine of 30 HP, a manageable ship with a large sailing area. Given the size of the ship, it is certainly also well-suited for sailing on the Frisian canals and lakes (recommended for people with little flat-bottom experience), but definitely also seaworthy for the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea, in short, an ideal holiday ship.
The skiff underwent a significant refit in the winter of 2022-2023. The engine was removed, and everything in the engine room was checked and painted. The exterior has been completely repainted, all round timber stripped and revarnished. In 2023, this sea skiff received a new mainsail and jib with lazyback cover and roller system for the jib. New anchor winch, diesel engine controls completely overhauled. In 2024, the interior of the hull was derusted and treated with a 2-component system, all external valves renewed, interior repainted and varnished, and a VHF installation was added.
The Dolle Dries has been successfully rented out by Platbodem verhuur Friesland since 2006. There is already rental planned for the Dolle Dries for 2025, and you can keep the Dolle Dries in rental.
