Description
This is a very nice boat. It has been on the hard as the owner bought a larger boat in Florida. Now, his age and health are catching up with him and so he cannot sail anymore and needs to sell. So, he has dropped the price considerably to generate some interest. The Pearson 303 is a large, livable 30-footer with 6’3” headroom. T. William Shaw designed this vessel to have a light and airy interior with teak accents, a walk-in stateroom forward, an extra large head and a legitimate quarter berth (6’6” long big enough for 2). The forward cabin sleeps 2 with shelf alcoves and center insert when removed offers standing room for changing. A folding door makes the forward cabin completely private. Just aft is the head to starboard with standing headroom in an easy to clean vanity with hot and cold pressure water for the shower. Across is a hanging locker and 5 cu ft of alcove storage. The settees are berths and couches – both quite comfortable. A table folds down when needed and that opens up shelving for wine bottles, or spices. The galley is L-shaped with two large drawers, cook ware bin under the stove and a long locker above it. There is also a locker under the deep sink. A main hatch, midships hatch and 8 opening Lewmar port upgrade offer great cross ventilation. The self-bailing cockpit has radiused seats and angle seat backs. A large sail locker is located to port and wheel steering is standard. The rig is a keel stepped masthead rig, fin keel and skeg hung rudder. The hull is solid fiberglass and the lead ballast is internal so there are no keel bolts to worry about. Pearson’s reputation is above average construction and the 303 is consistent with that. Owners praise the 303’s balance, stability and sea kindliness for a cruiser. Others remark that she is good looking, has a voluminous hull which sails very well. She backs up straight and turns on a dime. Excellent room for a 30-footer. Steers and tracks really well. Berths and headroom accommodate a 6’4” person nicely. Great ventilation. All maintenance professionally completed by the Bayport Marina service staff. After enjoying this boat up north, the owner has retired into a 43-foot pilothouse in Florida. But his health demands that he not sail anymore and he wants to get this boat out of his life, with reluctance.
