Description

NEWS FLASH : Freshly antifouled and Launched on 7th November 2024. Max is going sailing!
Are you looking for a small, simple, sailing yacht that can really sail? And is ready to go? And affordable? And already in one of the best cruising locations in the world? Then look no further!

You may not find a lot of information about Harmonics online, but the ones that are around are extremely well built and well maintained blue water cruising vessels.
Friends, I am happy to present to you MAX, a 1980 Harmonic 33, owned by her current owner for 22 years! Together they have had many wonderful adventures. With a background as a Shipwright, the owner did continuous updates, and upgrades to Max, some of them ingenious custom fabrications. He rebuilt the transom and incorporated an easy access sugar scoop on the stern. He did an interior refit, Fiberglassed the deck and cabin, and fitted carbon chain plates. In 2009 he added a full set of new sails, inclusive of Main, genoa, Reacher and MPS. 2014, Max had a new exterior paint job in Krabi, Thailand, and in 2015 he replaced the old engine with a second hand, low hour Yanmar. In 2018 he fabricated new fiberglassed water tanks, and a hard top dodger. In 2020, he concentrated on interior aesthetics and comfort, with new upholstery, cockpit cushions and seat cushions.
Along the way he fabricated a port and starboard set of cockpit seats, sitting on the combings, and welded into the hand rails. They allow for continued cockpit space, whilst offering vision forward, and a cool breeze. A stainless steel solar arch supports the panels, acts as davits, and joins the solid stainless grab rail that leads forward of the cockpit and hard dodger. There are many personal touches like this that have been made to Max.

She has a very open plan layout with the galley to port, the navigation to starboard, long saloon seats, and a Vberth forward with the head and shower unit. Two aft large single berths reach back along the port and starboard hull, aft of the companion stairs.

Max is currently berthed in Rebak Marina, Langkawi. A resort Island Marina, where residents get full use of Resort features, including a swimming pool, tennis courts, bar and restaurants, and a private beach. Langkawi is duty free. Malaysia is a super friendly country where a boat can stay long term without needing to import her. Hence we get a lot of seasonal sailors here who store the boats for months on end whilst land travelling, visiting relatives, or working. Rebak Marina is 5 min drive ( and a 7 min ferry drive) from the airport.

We look forward to introducing you to MAX. Please contact Rachel or Marine on Seasprayteam@gmail. Com for more information.
