BUILDER'S DESCRIPTION

Design aims of Naval Architect, John Brandlmayr, for this sloop included a modern, minimum size berth sloop; standing headroom in a trunk cabin with sitting headroom under side decks, traditional sheer; an effective racing competitor in all wind conditions but with enough sail area for frequent light wind conditions; and adequate structural strength for long life.

Features that might be pointed out include the Wineglass hull form with S curves to provide maximum strength and a deep sump; the lead ballast keel which forms integral shaping to the keel; accommodation volume equal to the usable volume of any larger boats; long molded appendages are neatly faired to contribute to good performance in light winds.

Both water and fuel tanks are molded integrally in the hull with water tank molded at the forward waterline area to provide extra security a watertight collision bulkhead in this vulnerable area.

CONTRUCTION:

Hand lay-up is used throughout construction. The hull and deck are each laid up in one-piece molds with the decking joined while the hull is in still in the mould. Sandwich construction of either Polyvinylchloride or Base Core in both hull and deck is available and is recommended to produce a rigid, relatively light hull with built in thermal and acoustic insulation.
