Originally, LEVANTE was designed under the name 'GEM' (S&S design #1930/2 mentioned in "The hundred best") and was ordered by the famous sailor William Ziegler III. The design of 'Levante' captivates both inside and out. In the early 1970s, owner William Ziegler III won many races in the West and East Atlantic Ocean with GEM. Since only about five sister ships were built, we can confidently say that this is a unique ship of its kind.

Her hull lines remained unchanged, preserving her original performance characteristics. She can be perfectly sailed singlehanded, as all lines lead to the cockpit. The original drawings of the sail plan and hull designs have been well preserved and are located on the yacht. The interior and exterior are almost original and have only been slightly adapted for modern comfort. She sails excellently in light winds and can reach a speed of 8 knots with just 15 knots of wind.
