Description
IF is a beautiful wooden sailing yacht of the Marconi cutter type built between 1940 and 1947.
Classified as a Historical Monument and still sailing today, its home port is Toulon (83)
The construction of IF began in 1940 at the Emile Chasseigne shipyard and was completed in 1947 at the Vernazza shipyard for the Armateur de Saint Mathurin, probably based on plans by Emile Chasseigne inspired by architect Talma Bertrand.
The teak deck has been fully restored as well as the planking ten years ago.
The mast is made of Oregon pine as well as the boom and the spinnaker pole.
The Volvo engine runs very well, starts on the first turn, and has good compression.
The Dacron sails (mandatory in the gauge) are 20 years old and in very good condition.
The sailboat is equipped with a mainsail, a Yankee genoa, a staysail, as well as an asymmetrical spinnaker "ballooner", all cut by Gateff in 2002/2003.
