There’s a new camera on the marine market and it’s aimed directly at surfers, canoeists, powerboaters and yachtsmen. Designed to be an affordable way to capture action videos and still photos of your chosen watersport, the latest GoPro HD Hero 2 camera is available in a new ‘Surf Edition’ guise - which means it comes with a high-performance housing that remains fully waterproof down to a depth of 180 feet. It also offers adhesive mounting bases, an FCS plug-compatible mount, a flotation backdoor and a quick-release buckle and leash, which means you can attach it to your boat (or your equipment) and leave it to do its stuff.

Hd Hero 2With the ability to take still photographs of up to 11 megapixels, or 1080p HD video, the camera features a clear, user-friendly menu screen as well as a choice of settings, including time-lapse photography and photo bursts of 10 frames per second. The HD Hero 2 is compatible with any SDHC card of 32GB capacity and comes with its own rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. Priced at £299.99, it is available now from Monster Stuff.
