This Was The Last FPB designed by Steve Dashew That Circa Marine Built!
Designed 100 Percent By Steve Dashew ! Not a Knock Off !
This 70' FPB (Functional Power Boat) long range expedition motor yacht is hull number # two, It was designed 100 percent (Current Yachts are not the Dashew design) by Steve & Linda Dashew and built by Circa Marine & Industrial Ltd. in Whangeri New Zealand of aluminum in 2019. She was launched in April of that year, and after sea trials the new owner took her first voyage through Tahiti and onto Hawaii. After Hawaii he ran her to Dutch Harbor Alaska, down the British Columbia coast to Ventura California. Once establishing Ventura as home base, she made two round trips to Mexico up into the Sea of Cortes. Most of these voyages were done with the owner and one other crew member! With her eight fuel tanks holding 4300 gallons of fuel, you will have a range of approximately 4000 miles @9.5 knots running at 1700 RPM. Taking her down to 6 knots will give you about a 5000-mile range.
This vessel is a true passage maker built to handle all types of sea conditions! Her forward decks are designed to handle the wettest and roughest sea conditions one would ever want to encounter! The Niad Stabilizers have built in compartments around them to prevent flooding, if a Stabilizer was broken off, forward crash bulkhead, three water tight bulkhead doors, two automatic fire suppression systems and 50 gallon a minute emergency crash pump are just a few of her safety features! This type of engineering/redundancy is throughout the entire vessel!
The gourmet up galley is aft of the dinette and is fitted with Hi Mac counter tops with custom rolled edges, along with high quality appliances, and a farmhouse sink. The saloon and galley are fitted with large windows allowing excellent visibility from anywhere in the space. The interior has leather soft goods throughout, retractable 55 inch television, Hi Mac counters, Studio Monitor sound system in the salon with Yamaha speakers, Outdoor Bose speakers with two zone stations one aft deck & one in Flybridge.
FPBs offer range, the ability to surf, recovery from capsize and are ruggedly built to withstand punishment in high and low latitude as well as providing a comfortable and well ventilated platforms in the tropics.
The current owner had a 64 FPB for six years before building this 70! He put all is knowledge of the 64 and his 57 years of boating experience into this build! He was in New Zealand during the entire build of his new Yacht! The ability for him for him to watch the build of HUll 1 gave him the valuable opportunity to improve his vessel! His efforts in this build will reward the new owner in ways she is designed when you are addressing all Sea conditions presented! You are not fighting this vessel because she is designed to flow and work for you!
Vessel was sea trialed in Auckland New Zealand and Steve Parsons Circa Marines delivery captain was aboard on her delivery to the west coast. This FPB 70 had the updated steering system installed and Met all Steve Dashews sea trial test performed by Steve Parsons.

This vessel is powered by a pair of John Deere 4045AFM85 (4.5 liter) diesel inboard engines, each producing 165 horsepower. These are commercial motors rated to run 24 hours a day! The main engines are driving ZF 280-1 reduction gear transmissions, each turning a ratio of 2.47:1. The main engines and Cummins / Onan genset are located forward the lazarette bilge beneath the forward section of the aft deck. The engine room can be accessed from the interior companionway aft of the galley or from the lazarette bilge, both points are fitted with water tight bulkheads and doors. The engine room is exceptionally clean, well laid out, lit and maintained, access for servicing the machinery and equipment is excellent. The main engines are well maintained with 2300 hours.
The genset port aft in the engine room is within a hard sound shield. The exhaust for the machinery is wet and exits port and starboard from the hull sides above the waterline. The exhaust systems are fitted with aqualift mufflers, fiberglass tubes, silicon and neoprene hump hoses.
The fuel system consists of eight aluminum tanks, fore, mid, aft, port and starboard wing and ballast tanks along with a day tank. The fuel is pumped from the tanks to the day tank after it has been filtered. The fuel system is plumbed with neoprene high pressure hose with inline Racor primary filters along with stainless steel ball shutoff valves and manifolds. The day tank is fitted with a level sight tube while all tank levels are monitored via the Maretron system. The main engines are controlled by ZF Cruise Command single lever fly by wire controls from three stations.

The AC power is supplied by 50 Amp 125 / 250 VAC shore power inlets fitted with a Victron Energy Auto Transformer, single Cummins / Onan 14 Kw genset or via five Victron Energy inverter / chargers.
The vessels electrical system consists of branch overload protected circuits via resettable breakers and replaceable fuses. The wiring, copper stranded sheathed multi conductor where visible is well loomed, routed, labeled and secured. The AC and DC systems are fitted with multiple means of voltage, amperage monitoring via Maretron system and or stand alone monitors. The AC and DC electrical systems are highly engineered to allow various power sources, at least AC wise along with various charging sources DC wise.
