Description
For Sale 2014 San Juan 41, Kept in Pristine Condition and Always Stored Indoors
Powered by Twin 370 hp D6 Volvo Engines, Only 460 hrs
Exceptional, custom downeast style express. Vessel shows as near new with extremely high end finishes and high tech, composite construction, assuring cruising efficiency and excellent performance characteristics. Built in the Pacific Northwest, as a more modern interpretation of the venerable San Juan 38, this model extends the accommodation and head room, while maintaining the traditional high end wood finishes and joinery touches that San Juan is known for. The helm visibility is excellent with tall windshield and wrap around glass, all trimmed in high finish teak. Entire helm and bridge deck area is conditioned, and a removable rear panel provides convertible enclosure for seasonal variations. A brand new, variable speed, highly efficient HVAC has just been installed for the upper helm area. The two air conditioning units provide a very well balanced cooling system.
All exterior teak has just been completely refinished and shows as near new, with minimal wear. Solar panel system provides constant trickle charging for the ships battery bank.
A new Northern Lights 6KW generator was installed in the past 18 months, with less than 75 hours of total use.
Mango Tango comes with a 20 GPH Seawater Pro water maker.
Internet is provided by a Starlink Receiver mounted on the hard top.
The Navigational suite includes a new Garmin 8616XSV Chartplotter with Sonar and 36 Mile Radar. A Ritchie 4” Compass is located at good eye level above helm. A Simrad AP 16 autopilot is included. A Standard Horizon CMP 25W VHF is included. Volvo engine gauges are provided at helm.
Mango Tango is also equipped with, electric anchor windlass with chain and rode, full Fusion stereo system with JL Audio speakers, and full set of safety gear and dock lines. A canvas windshield mask is provided, as well as full aft canvas "soft-back" which is easily removed when desired.
Performance specs are provided, and the boat is exceptionally light for it's size, based on its carbon/kevlar composite construction, and the Volvo D6s provide an exceptional power balance, giving very quick time to plane, as can be seen in the video, and also supporting extremely balanced handling around docks. The bow swings effortlessly with minimal thruster engagement, and helm response at speed is excellent. The vertical "Humphrees" style, Volvo trim tab blades are extremely responsive with very little input needed.
Overall efficiency throughout the operating range supports an ideal cruising speed of just over 20 knots at approximately 80% load, with a little over 1 MPG in most cruising configurations, with WOT of around 26 knots.
Accommodations
The accomodations include two cabins, with the master stateroom forward in the V berth area, with a step up and under bunk storage and solid panel door with burl inset. This stateroom includes a hanging locker and excellent lighting. Finishes are all custom teak with mahogany accents. The berth makes full use of the width of the cabin, while still providing sufficent room to make the bed.
Aft of the forward cabin is a head with shower en-suite, separated from cabinetry by virtue of a sliding curtain track overhead. An oiled teak grate flooring provides separation from shower drainage. The head has natural lighting via an overhead hatch, while also provided with low voltage fixtures and a highly polished surround so as to make clean up and wipe down most efficient. An electric head is provided.
Aft of the head to starboard is a galley area with multiple, refrigerated in-counter spaces, in addition to a two burner top and microwave. The full electrical panel is located to the aft of the galley, where it is easily reachable and has proper lighting for switch selection.
Aft on the port side is an outstanding pilot station with chart table and overhead storage, with swing out stool seating. A pilot berth is located immediately aft of the pilot station. The berth is deceivingly large and can be made private with curtain.
The upper deck includes a fully equipped helm station to starboard, with Garmin 8616 chartplotter with Garmin 36 mile radar, bow thruster controls, Volvo vertical trim tab controls, and Volvo engine digital readouts. The helm area and extended width helm seat is well situated for outstanding views forward and aft, as well as to starboard and port via the very large fixed port windows, and near 7 foot headroom on the bridge deck. The port helm side includes a matching extra wide leatherette finished seat, which is also in excellent condition, showing very little wear. This material is also carried out through the settee area aft on the port side. There is also a small drink refrigerator under the port helm seat, with brand new extreme high efficiency HVAC under the starboard helm area. Aft of the starboard helm is an access door to ships power switching and generator controls. The brand new Northern Lights 6KW generator supplies fully capable power for all the ships needs.
The U shaped settee aft on the port side has a highly finished dinette table, which is a high/low configuration for some expanded sleeping possibilities, given that the entire upper deck area is fully conditioned, especially when the aft "soft-back" canvas enclosure is fitted.
A roof top solar array provides on-going trickle charging of the full bank of AGM batteries, and a Starlink receiver is also provided on the hard top roof, aft of the mast, which includes steaming light.
The cockpit is oiled teak and is in excellent condition, with many sandings left. Grain is fine and smooth, with no raised caulk in either the cockpit or on the swim platform. A hinged transom door to starboard provides seamless access to the swim platform. There is also a sink and counter top arrangement with storage underneath at the forward end of the cockpit, inclusive of the main engine room door. Multiple teak covered steps are provided at both port and starboard sides of the cockpit to provide access to the side decks. Under the starboard gunnel is located a washdown hose.
