Description
Quick. Quiet. Comfortable.
This Island Pilot 435 blends the timeless seakeeping DNA of traditional pilot boats with modern performance and ease of operation. Designed for owners who value both speed and efficiency, she cruises confidently at 28 knots when you want to cover ground—or settles into remarkably economical trawler speeds for long, relaxed passages.
Docking and close-quarters handling are refreshingly simple thanks to intuitive joystick control, making single-handing or short-crewed operation stress-free and precise.
Exceptionally well suited for extended cruising, the Island Pilot 435 is an ideal platform for The Great Loop, New England, the Chesapeake Bay, or island-hopping through The Bahamas. Her layout is comfortable and inviting, with a refined, understated elegance that makes time aboard feel effortless—whether underway or at anchor.
This vessel has benefited from significant recent upgrades and careful maintenance, adding peace of mind and long-term value:
Large Raymarine Axiom chart plotter and updated instruments
New fuel tanks
Pod drives serviced and re-sealed
A rare combination of performance, comfort, and classic design, this Island Pilot 435 is ready for her next adventure—with nothing left to do but cast off the lines.
Accommodations
The Island Pilot 435 is ideally laid out for a couple to cruise in comfort. Starting forward you have a spacious island berth with en suite head. There is good storage in cubbies and hanging lockers. Aft to port is a head with separate shower compartment. Across from that to starboard is a flexible space that can be used as guest accommodation, storage, or a floating office with a built in drop down desk. In the companionway to the forward stateroom you also find an additional fridge/freezer unit for more cold storage.
The salon is a few steps aft with a galley to port that has an oven and electric cooktop. There is a stainless sink and Vitrifrigo fridge/freezer. To starboard is the helm station with engine controls, the recent Raymarine instruments and a comfortable Captains chair. Further aft in the interior features opposing settees with dinette to starboard.
Deck Layout
Beginning aft there is an ample swim platform with transom walkthrough door. This leads to the aft cockpit which is fully shaded; a great place to set up some chairs and a table for dining al fresco. Beneath the aft cockpit are three large hatches which gain you access to the engines and generator. With the hatches raised it gives great access to service the mechanicals. There is ample room for storage in the engine space and there is built in tool box.
Climbing the stairs to the flybridge, there are twin helm seats facing forward with engine controls to starboard. There is a canvas Bimini. Aft is the mast with radar dome and davit. There are dinghy chocks on the aft portion of the flybridge for storing your tender.
Wide and well protected side decks lead forward. There are lifeline rails going fully forward around the vessel to ensure maximum safety when working the deck. Furthest forward is the Delta anchor with Maxwell electric windlass.
