Description

Absolutely brilliant design and layout. With 12 large cruising yachts to his credit, William Brees is a well respected boat builder in the Pacific Northwest. Pacific Pearl is the last boat he built, and he built her for himself and his wife to cruise in their retirement years. A lifetime of boat building and cruising experience went into her design. After 14 trips to Alaska and 2 to Mexico, William and his wife have decided it time to pass this very capable cruiser onto the next lucky couple.

Buy this one second. From a fellow cruiser, my advice regarding Pacific Pearl, is to buy this one second. If you have owned a cruising boat previously, you will have had the experiences that afford one the knowledge to recognize what makes Pacific Pearl so special.

Only after having cruised and maintained a more common typical production yacht would you fully appreciate the true benefits of Pacific Pearl.

A few features below.

1. A true sustainable 2 NMPG @ 10 KTS.

2. Capable of 18 KTS if needed. She has the speed to get out of the way of a storm, or make it to a fuel dock before they close. Or step it up to get into an Anchorage and drop the hook before dark.

3. Why raw aluminum? Have you ever had the pleasure of waxing/buffing a 60' boat? Or have you ever paid to have this work performed? It's continuing ongoing work and expensive! With raw aluminum you never need to do this. And no gelcoat repairs! Aluminum does not transfer heat very well which keeps the boat cooler in hot climates. Also, no rust!

4. Pacific Pearl is spray foam insulated. Great in hot and cold climates. Mexico to Alaska!

5. John Deere engines in separate engine rooms large enough to truly get around. Maintainance is very easy.

6. Pacific Pearl uses a head system that discharges directly into a holding tank. NO HEAD HOSES! It's instantly identifiable if a boat has old head hoses. (The fragrance lets you know) If you have ever had to deal with changing head hoses, both the cost and the unpleasant nature of the work will convince you not to want them in the future. This simple design feature that makes ownership much more pleasant.

7. Household furniture. Built in settee's are generally uncomfortable. Pacific Pearl was designed to allow big household couches with recliners. Ultimate comfort.

8. Ultra efficient refrigeration. 2 chest style refrigerators/freezers provide tons of cold storage, but use minimal power. Both can be sustained by the solar panels. Stay on anchor for much longer without running a generator.

9. Very functional "U" shaped galley with tons of counter top space.

10. Why Catermaran? A few nights in a rolly anchorage will convince you. Watch the masts of the monohulls vs. the catamarans. The cats move significantly less movement allowing you to be much more comfortable. Cats can anchor when others are running for the dock. Saves money and provides more options. This same stability is very evident when cruising. No expensive and cumbersome stabilizer system is needed.

11. True pilot house. The distance from the pilot house to the engines reduces engine noise at the helm. Excellent visibility. Aft deck just off the pilot house. And the best part??? Lazy boy reclining love seat with 2 recliners for a helm chair!! Truly cruise in the ultimate comfort.

12. Diesel stove for heat. The stove is located in the salon proving heat and ambiance. The chimney flu strategically rises up through the pilot house for heating.

13. Huge windlass with 316 stainless chain. Carry a mammoth anchor and sleep well at anchor. Also, due to the Catermaran design, the windlass is located much further aft than on a typical 60' boat allowing much more chain to be deployed with less swing.

14. The way Pacific Pearl carries her tender sets her apart from any boat I have ever seen. Loading a heavy tender with a traditional davit is a pain! The boat heels dramatically as the winch groans. The last few wraps on the winch spool have much less power than the first few. Swinging the tender inward requires much force. Often people don't use their tender as much as they would like simply because it's difficult to launch and retrieve. Not with Pacific Pearl. On her port hull, she has bunks that guide the tender up as a winch pulls her in. One person can load the tender easily. The same concept as a small boat trailer.

15. No leaky deck penetrations. There are 2 deck hatches on Pacific Pearl. Both hatches are directly above the Showers. If the hatches leak, (and they all eventually do) the water falls directly into a shower.

16. 8 Degrees of keel. Did you know the average gradient of beaches around the world is between 2 and 8 degrees? Pacific Pearl was designed to be beach-able if desired. She can sit on a beach while maintining a flat floor in the salon. Want to check a prop? No problem, check the tide chart and beach her!

17. Water Maker.

18. Due to the large solar panels and efficient refrigeration, a smaller, quieter and more fuel efficient generator can sustain the boat.

This boat and this design has been proven with tens of thousands of ocean miles under her keels.

Pacific Pearl is currently available, but if you would like a brand new boat, William Brees is ready to build another.
