Description
Gusto Jack is Hull#83 of the 110 PDQ MV34's made. She has all the upgrades of the later model PDQ's including larger engines, larger Gally and Head areas and upgraded Flybridge with Dual Helm Chair . Gusto Jack's owners frequently attended the annual PDQ Owners meetings and performed all of the maintenance and upgrades recommended by both experts in the field and other PDQ owners. These extensive upgrades include items that make the vessel safer and easier to operate. In to safety and convivence upgrades, Gusto Jack has had all of the regular scheduled maintenance complete and has logs since day one. Although Gusto Jack has Just over 3000 hours on her engines, these engines have been impeccably maintained and perform as well today as they did when the boat was new. These engines have recently been completely turned(within the past 20hrs of operation) This service included all fluids and filters, belts, heat exchanger's, turbos, starters, and alternators. You'd be hard pressed to find a PDQ where every system functions as it should on such a consistent basis.
The PDQ 34 is a cleverly designed, manageable, power catamaran, ideal for a cruising couple with occasional guests. Solid fiberglass below the waterline provides strength and rigidity; Corecell sandwich above the waterline and in the decks, as well as the slimline hulls keeps the boat light and maneuverable. The Wide deck with sturdy hand rails alows for easy movement around the deck.
Both interior and exterior spaces are well thought out, with living aboard and cruising in mind. There is good 'flow' and several areas for seating, allowing the crew to be together.... or apart... depending on the day! The large salon windows provide copious amounts of light, excellent visibility, good ventilation and a sense of connection with the water. The layout is 2-cabin, 1-head, with a double cabin in the stern of each hull, the galley in the port hull and the head in bow of the starboard hull. With 2'6" Draft and 12'3" Bridge clearance with the mast down, you can go pretty much anywhere and her under 17' beam allows her to fit in most standard slips.
Walk Through
With the traditional catamaran molded steps on both sides in the stern and the boarding gates on either side both forward and aft, the PDQ makes boarding a breeze from almost any docking scenario. The aft deck has a long molded bench seat aft, with heavy duty dinghy Davits. With the 30 inch wide decks, clear walkways and high secure hand rails with safety lines make for confident and safe passage around the boat . Six steps up to Bimini covered flybridge with partial enclosure. Excellent visibility from the upper helm with large captain's double bench seat center, molded L-shaped seating to port and ice chest with cushion to starboard. The roomy foredeck has four opening hatches with storage compartments with anchor windless centered out of the way in front of the windows.
Access to the interior is through an forward angled sliding glass door. Down two steps is landing area with lower helm to starboard, fitted with extra-wide adjustable captain's bench, and L-shaped settee to port with folding table. Screened sliding windows can be found on both side of the boat in this area Down two steps to saloon with large U-shaped convertible dinette. Upholstery of Dinette and L shaped Settee is aqua green leather while the raised Captains bench is white. There's Teak and Holly sole throughout boat. A with a three panel front windshield make for plenty of natural light while the center window with disappearing screen is hinged from the top and opens out from the bottom creating a scoop to ventilate the cabin. Storage throughout under settee cushions and removable floor boards.
To port is a custom storage cabinet with wine bottle holders Down three steps is galley with DC refrigerator, stainless sink, convection microwave, and two burner propane stove and Corian countertops. Two opening portlights, lockers, and shelves. Aft of galley is catamaran style stateroom with queen-like berth, six lockers, large opening hatch, and two opening portlights, reading lights and fans.
To starboard is a cabinet for the electrical panel/electronic equipment. Down three steps to companionway is large lockers and opening portlight. Forward to head with stall shower, opening overhead hatch, vanity sink, medicine cabinet, and opening portlight. Move aft to stateroom with catamaran style queen-like berth, four lockers, large opening hatch, and opening portlight reading lights, fan and control for the Aft Air conditioner
