Description

Dulce is a fine example of the iconic Dyer 29, a Downeast classic celebrated for her seaworthiness, timeless styling, and balanced performance. Built in 2003, this Soft Top model is powered by a Yanmar 6LPA-DTP 260 hp diesel with low original hours, providing reliable and efficient cruising.

She is a soft top in excellent condition and has 8 coats of varnish, a new raised bimini top, cockpit cushions, new electronics, reconditioned prop, hatch and portlights.  The bottom was soda blasted last spring and 2 barrier coats were applied and 2 coats of bottom paint.  An auto pilot system was recently added, has new D size batteries, a new dripless shaft log, new macerator pump, and new VHF radio is mechanically sound.

This Dyer 29 Soft Top is so quiet that a social conversation and or a picnic can be enjoyed underway. The boat is easily driven, level-riding and non-pounding with a 260 horsepower diesel that slices through waves at 16 knots cruising speed. The 29 has been proven durable and seaworthy by more than 300 owners and fishing captains. The raised bridgedeck over the engine offers great visibility from the wheel and, without an engine box, there's space to seat four around a table inside the enclosed top. Dyer 29's versatile 4-in-1 design maximizes the joys of motorboating. With soft top up and side panels in place, it's a three-season cabin cruiser. Remove side panels for an airy, Bimini- topped ride on the Intracoastal or bay. The sailboat cabin is perfect for a cruising couple with its twin V-berth cabin, galley and enclosed head.   Dulche has entertained up to 10 for dinner cruises.

Dulce represents a rare opportunity to acquire a late-model Dyer 29 in excellent condition. With her low-hour Yanmar diesel, simple systems, and iconic heritage, she is an ideal choice for buyers seeking a reliable Downeast cruiser with enduring style.

The Dyer 29

First introduced in 1955, the DYER 29 wears the crown of "THE LONGEST PRODUCTION BOAT" in the history of modern boat building.

Considered to be one of the most handsome boats ever built, this traditional classic timeless design is very sea worthy, comfortable, pleasurable, and stylish with a distinctive signature look and pedigree.

With sweeping shear lines, raised trunk cabin and wood framed windshields, the Dyer 29 has been turning heads, and providing content ownership for decades.

This is your change to step aboard and own this much sought after craft.  This vessel is well kept while knowledgeably and intently maintained by her third owner and has been stored in a heated shed kept during the winters.

About the Dyer 29: Was first introduced in 1955, designed by Nick Potter and launched by fiberglass pioneer Bill Dyer and enjoys the longest production run in history. This classic New England Downeast style boat is not only designed to look like a sea going vessel but is also built this way. The hull is constructed with seven layers of handlaid fiberglass and nine layers below the waterline for additional strength and and durability.

The bottom is v-shaped forward and progressively flattens out towards the stern. The bottom rolls into the hull sides with a radiused turn rather than a sharp corner-like edge where a long wine glass-shaped keel integrated into the hull. The keel is cut away after for installation of the propeller and rudder, protecting the running gear from damage.

The deck and hulls are joined at an outward turning flange with a substantial guardrail fit directly beneath the flange to prevent damage to the sheer. A full-length spray rail is fit along the hull side above the static waterline to deflect water away from the hull.

The cockpit is large, spacious and can easily accommodate four fisherman or six guests for morning, afternoon or evening cruises. The aft cockpit has a stern box for seating and leads to the raised bridge deck with a flush hatch over the engine.

The large engine hatch with gas lifts provides easy access to the large and insulated engine compartment.

A lounge seat area on the bride deck on the port side has storage underneath. The well equipped and organized helm station and seat is on the starboard side.

The cabin forward includes two 6'6'' V-berths, an efficient galley and an enclosed head compartment and ample storage and locker space.

The Dyer 29 is designed for comfort, enjoyment, satisfaction and performance and its high freeboard and rounded chine combine to provide a smooth ride and fine entry when encountering chop.

She is a great pleasure vessel for cruising, fishing, entertaining, and just getting out on the water.
