Description
For 27 years, the Grand Banks 42 Motoryacht 'Tapasya' has been sailed, maintained and upgraded with great passion by the same owner.
The Tapasya has proven herself as a true Grand Banks with many great trips to for example through all the Northen countries, parts of the Mediterranean, Madeira and The Canarias. The complete maintenance has been documented together with an extensive logbook of all trips.
What makes the Tapasya so complete is, among other things:
- Same owner for 27 years and full history
- Stainless steel diesel, water and black water tanks
- Line and seaweed cutters on axles
- Sidepower bow and stern thruster
- 4-blade propeller (originally 3-blade)
- Kabola and Eberspächer heating
- Bow and stern anchor (+ reserves)
- Central vacuum system
- Trim Tabs

Owner testimonial:
The meaning of TAPASYA
The name of the yacht 'Tapasya' comes from Sanskrit (a monastic language, mainly from India) and has the meaning: "... to expose yourself with free will to uncomfortable situations in order to achieve something higher and better" (... to be at sea in heavy rain and hard cold wind, only to arrive at a beautiful and wonderful place where you also have the chance to meet nice and great people!).
Let me also explain why I chose Tapasya as the name for my yacht.
Well, sailors are said to be superstitious. They used to think that if a ship’s name had seven letters, it would be safe on the seven seas. If the ship’s name also had three A’s, which means the Trinity, it would protect you on the seven seas.
Tapasya is also a Hindu girl’s name of Sanskrit origin that means “austerity,” “meditation,” or “self-discipline.” It is derived from the word “tapas,” which means “heat” or “energy.” In Hinduism, tapas is a spiritual practice that involves self-discipline, meditation, and other forms of self-purification. It is a beautiful and meaningful name that is perfect for a girl (like a Grand Banks) who is strong-willed and dedicated to her goals.
