Description

Pampered inside a Ladysmith, BC boathouse for the past 13 years (assumable moorage!), and a boathouse in Lake Union, WA before that, this classic west coast trawler is a gem. There is teak everywhere: decks, caprails, bowsprit, headliner, sole, table, and more. The artistry that went into the woodwork is exquisite.

Mechanically sound, this is a great boat for cruising around the islands or getting up to Alaska. She’s as comfortable as can be, with very spacious accommodations with room to sleep five comfortably, a bright and airy saloon with lots of natural light and plenty of outdoor seating.

The galley is a chef’s treat. There are four burners plus an oven to work with, lots of counter space, a huge sink, and a generously sized stainless-steel fridge. There is plenty of storage throughout and even a teak wineglass holder above. The galley, dinette, and lower helm are all on the same level, making the entire main cabin a great place to come together with family and friends.

Outside, the flybridge has lots of seating. There are four wide benches, plus a couple of lawn chairs around a teak table. If you’d like to lie out, do yoga, the deck over the aft cabin is the place to do it. The side decks are wider than you expect and make moving fore and aft safe and comfortable.

This is a simple, honest boat that has a lot to offer. She’s been cared for and is now looking forward to getting out and visiting some islands and seeing the sea.

Layout & Description

Boarding from the dock can be done via a gate on either side. You can walk all around the vessel on teak decks. There is a teak swim grid. From the aft deck you can access the aft cabin or step up to a deck over the aft cabin, then up another few steps to the flybridge. The upper helm is located there, as well as seating for eight or so. The foredeck displays a beautiful teak and glass butterfly hatch. The substantial windlass is mounted atop a bowsprit with two solid Samson posts at its base. The main cabin can be accessed from either side via sliding doors. To port, the entrance is aft, to starboard, the entrance is located at the lower helm station.

The aft cabin has two bunks: one single and one oversized double for the tall people in your group.

Between the bunks aft are stairs leading to the aft deck. Forward are stairs leading to the main cabin. There is an ensuite with a toilet and a bathtub/shower. There’s a large hanging locker and plenty of storage space in the cabin.

The main cabin has a door to the port deck. Forward of the door is a long L-shaped settee with a lovely wooden table. The entire cabin is surrounded by big windows to let in the light and the Salish Sea views. To starboard is the galley. The deep sink is tucked into the corner aft with countertop space on either side of it. The sink itself is uniquely designed. Forward of the sink is a 4-burner stove with oven, then a large front-loading fridge/freezer. Forward of the fridge is the lower helm station.

Stairs lead down into the forward living space. To starboard is another head with a basin and toilet. To port of the head is a double pullman berth. Forward of the berth are storage areas and access to the chain locker.
