This 1988 Dudley Dix Echo 38 is a full displacement trawler yacht of all steel
construction. The hull below the waterline is designed around a harbor tug style,
having full keel with skeg hung rudder.
This boat needs TLC ( painting, woodwork, etc. )but runs. Alot of boat for the money. This single screw,full skeg,full displacement hull and aluminum super structure provides a safe and steady ride in any sea condition. This Tug is economical and burns just 2 gallons an hour running at 7.5 knots with the genset running. This is really a conversation piece,designed by Howdy Bailey of Marine Metals in Norfolk, VA. She combines a traditional elliptical stern tug above the waterline with a full displacement hull. This is the perfect safe and economical boat for a cruising couple.
