For Sale: 1985 Liberty 458 “Ganache II” – Offshore-Ready Cruiser & Liveaboard
Meticulously maintained and lovingly cared for by the same owners for the past 25 years, Ganache II is a standout example of the highly regarded Liberty 458. Designed by Peter Hoyt of Seattle and built by the Shin Fa yard in Taiwan, only 32 of these quality offshore cruisers were ever produced, making them a rare find—especially in this condition. In 2015 the vessel was gone over during a major refit. During which, the mast was repainted, running rigging, standing rigging and sails were replaced.
Ganache II was launched in 1985 and has served as a comfortable, full-time liveaboard and dependable bluewater cruiser since 2000 under her current (second) owners. Her warm, rubbed-effect solid teak interior offers exceptional craftsmanship and an inviting atmosphere, complemented by generous storage throughout—perfect for extended cruising.
Built for serious passage-making but equally suited to coastal exploration, her cutaway full keel with skeg-mounted rudder delivers safe, stable handling in a wide range of conditions. With low engine hours, well-maintained systems, and thoughtful upgrades, she’s ready to take you on your next adventure—whether that's across the Pacific or around the Gulf Islands.
If you’re looking for a capable offshore sailboat with character, comfort, and a proven track record, Ganache II is well worth a look.
