Description
OVERVIEW
SILVER LINING is a classic Warren O'Neal open bulkhead sportfish, built as the Pee Wee Jr. in 1975. She has had a handful of owners over the years since then. All of them have kept her looking good and have maintained her elegant simplicity. Her previous owner, a local mechanic and all around boatsman, took things a bit further in terms of modernization, speed and maneuverability, allowing the enjoyment level to flourish without compromising her class and practicality.
He decided to remove the keel and replace much of the running gear, wiring, seacocks, hoses, fuel lines, bearings, etc...throughout the boat. He added some electronics and beefed up some systems on her, did some glassing on the chines, spray rails, toe rails and guards and gave her hull a pretty new paint job as well as a full service on the engine.
The end result is the same simple, classy, one of a kind rig that looks great, fishes like a champ but now cruises at a smooth 18 knots and tops out at 23 knots, absolutely sips fuel (less than 5 gph) and handles like a dream. In the last couple years, she has fished off the beach in Hatteras for Spanish, kings and cobia, eased into sloughs behind the Inlet, afternoon cruising the Pamlico back of Ocracoke, anchored up in 3-4 feet of water for family fun, caught drum and sheepshead around the Oregon Inlet bridge and Bigeyes and Yellowfin around the Point...Pretty versatile rig! She is just a super cool boat that is same as she ever was, with a lot of nice upgrades and as steeped in the NC boat building history as one can be.
Her current owner has maintained the boat well and she has a fresh bottom job, and a newly refurbished Engine box. A change in plans with her current owner has made her available.
