Description
RIVA AQUARAMA … the ultimate RIVA The RIVA AQUARAMA, the most famous motorboat in the world, the Ferrari of the boating world; no man-made object symbolizes the carefree, glamorous, sporty, and beautiful lifestyle better than this boat. Anyone who belonged to the international jet set in the 1960s or 1970s owned one. It was fast, powerful, and expensive – a symbol of success, wealth, and joy of life. For many motorboat enthusiasts, it is still the most beautiful motorboat of all time. Its elegant seamless, deep red mahogany hull, its comfortably padded lounging area in the sleekly tapering stern, the large panoramic window, plenty of chrome, and the rumbling V8 sound are characteristic of RIVA boats from this era. In terms of beauty, performance, and craftsmanship, the Aquarama remains the undisputed queen of all waters to this day. The most famous of Carlo Riva's designs, the Aquarama has become a nautical legend over time and represents the pinnacle of the Riva product range. The Aquarama is a direct descendant of the Tritone, on whose hull it is based, and like the Tritone, it has always been a twin-engine boat. The Aquarama became a symbol of Riva when it was presented at the third International Nautical Exhibition in Milan in November 1962. The presentation slogan fully embodied the key aspirations: "Sun, Sea, Joy of Life!" The suggestive name "Aquarama" was inspired by the popular widescreen format Cinerama in the USA in the early 1960s, and this clever name undoubtedly contributed to its mythical status. The prototype Aquarama was an evolution of the Tritone. It was 8.02 m long and 2.62 m wide, had 8 seats, 2 berths at the bow, and was powered by two Chris-Craft gasoline engines with 235 hp each. In contrast to the Tritone, whose rear deck and engine covers were completely closed and showcased meters of beautifully smoothed and multiple lacquered mahogany wood, the Aquarama featured the open, comfortably padded sunbathing area. Furthermore, many new features were developed. The front seats were now separate and no longer a continuous bench, making movement in the cabin and access to the front berths easier. At the back of the front seats was a charming and practical picnic table with bottle and glass holders on one side and a folding pocket on the back of the driver's seat backrest. A non-slip gangway, which was recessed into the rear deck, made getting in and out a simple and less precarious affair, and the rear sun deck was large and extremely inviting - the perfect place for a picnic with friends. The Riva Aquarama is the ultimate classic wooden motorboat. Timeless beauty, reliable and powerful American V8 engines, and handling and driving feel that has yet to be surpassed by any motorboat to this day. This model has been carefully restored to the highest standards and 'German' expectations and is largely still original. Of course, with 'matching numbers'. The underwater hull has been renewed, as has the deck and the perfect paint structure according to RIVA specifications. The complete upholstery along with the base has been renewed and awaits untouched for the new owner. The engines have been completely overhauled and rebuilt, all components such as oil pump, fuel pump, alternator, carburetor, and all other technical parts are in new condition. The entire wiring has been renewed, and the Aquarama has additionally been equipped with a warning system as well as a fully automatic Halon fire extinguishing system. Simply perfectly restored and ready for the next 100 years of endless joy. A pleasure and an investment in one.
