New boat safety handbook from the RYA
From lifejackets to MOBs, all you need to know in a handy new book from the RYA
The RYA has added a new title to its already extensive range of publications in the form of the RYA Boat Safety Handbook. The book covers all the key elements in boat safety from lifejackets and buoyancy aids, MOB prevention and recovery to calling for help and dealing with fire. And the author, Keith Colwell, is very conscious of the important role it can play: “Safety afloat is always prominent in the thoughts of any conscientious boat owner. This book provides essential information to ensure that your boat has the necessary safety equipment, so that anyone heading out on the water can have absolute peace of mind.”
Steen Ingerslev, RYA Publications Manager, added: “We already have a great deal of books on boat handling and techniques so this new title is an absolutely necessary addition to our stable of publications. Keith has done a great good and we hope people will get a lot out of the book.”
Anyone who buys a copy between now and the end of March 2012 will be entered into a free prize draw to win a safety equipment audit and assistance with setting up their own boat with either RYA Training Manager, Richard Falk, or Chief Sailing Instructor, Craig Burton.
