NEW LISTING - OYSTER 625-07 FLYING SPIRIT BROKER’S COMMENTSFLYING SPIRIT is a truly stunning, modern, and contemporary yacht. Her interior is beautifully executed in maple joinery with teak sole boards and trim. The triple seascape windows and Oyster’s renowned Deck Saloon windows ensure this is a very light and airy yacht below decks. On deck, FLYING SPIRIT is a sleek, powerful-looking yacht with uncluttered lines and an easy-to-manage push-button in-mast furling sloop rig. FLYING SPIRIT features all the comfort and function on deck you would expect and is set up to maximize performance while being sailed short-handed. Equipment-wise, FLYING SPIRIT is built with an extremely high specification, designed to ensure owners and guests are surrounded by luxury with all the amenities one would desire in a yacht of this pedigree. FLYING SPIRIT has been spared no expense in build or maintenance and is proudly owned and continuously upgraded by a meticulous, hands-on experienced American yachtsman that is moving up within the Oyster fleet. FLYING SPIRIT is presented in immaculate condition and has been competitively priced to appeal to the brokerage market. Viewing of FLYING SPIRIT is highly recommended; she is quite simply a stunning yacht. MANUFACTURER’ S COMMENTSOUR AWARD-WINNING OCEAN-GOING SAILBOAT Conceived to bring significant improvements to the already successful Oyster 61 and 62 ocean-going sailboats, the triple award-winning Oyster 625 is a sub 20m sailing yacht designed for easy family and friends sailing. Building on what were already proven Oyster yachts, Humphreys Yacht Design devised an improved hull form to provide this ocean-going sailboat with increased performance and handling. Other enhancements included a sportier rig, increased space in the master cabin, and the choice of several interior arrangements, including the option for a forepeak layout to accommodate a full-time crew member if required. The 625 offers spacious interiors for a sailing yacht below 20m, with a generously proportioned galley, a full-beam owner’s suite, two en-suite cabins forward, and a fourth cabin that could be configured as a workshop, a guest cabin, or a children’s cabin, with access from the master. During build, the option was given for direct aft-deck access from the master cabin via a sliding companionway. In this design, particular emphasis was placed on outdoor living, with safe navigation and easy sailing facilitated by a large cockpit, flat aft deck, and forward sundeck. Her design showcases a cleaner, more modern bulwark profile, with wide side decks and integral fittings for easy movement from bow to stern. The smoother, flush lines of her foredeck provide more deck space than the Oyster 62 ocean-going sailboat. Below decks, the 625’s saloon features Oyster’s signature triple ‘Seascape’ windows, with three vertical portlights set into the port and starboard sides of her hull, providing a new perspective of her cruising grounds and breathtaking views out over the water – a real superyacht feature. With an overall length of just under 19.4m (63.5ft), the Oyster 625 has a displacement-length ratio of 182 and a sail-area displacement ratio of 22.3 making her a true ocean-going sailboat that delivers outstanding performance and comfortable cruising in the 20m sailing yacht class. 4. Oyster 53

    Oyster 53

    Ipswich, Suffolk
    2002
    £395,000

The Oyster 53 was the second design for us completed by Rob Humphreys, coming just after the 56. Like the 56, the 53 proved successful from launch and remains Oyster’s third most popular model of all time. Our smallest design that offered four cabins as standard, the 53 lost little when compared with her larger sisters, and full use of her 4.66m beam allows a spacious saloon and superb owner’s stateroom with en suite head/shower.  The tried and tested Oyster formula of centre cockpit with single wheel, single skin GRP construction to her hull and topsides, full-length rudder skeg, and keel stepped mast results in a robust ocean voyager with a superb blue water track record. A moderate balanced hull, medium displacement, and lead bulb keel, available in deep or shoal draft versions, gives the 53 a gentle motion at sea, while her generous rig means that her performance under sail is better than expected. Most 53s were rigged as configured as cutters by their original owners, but there are also some sloop-rigged and the great majority were fitted with in-mast furling to allow easy handling by a couple. No less than fifty-two Oyster 53s were launched between 1999 and 2008, and she should be on the short for anyone looking for a moderately sized, simple, and strong blue water cruiser or liveaboard. Moy Toad is a 2002 example and configured for shorthanded sailing; cutter rigged with push-button electric furling to her mainsail and manual furlers to both headsails. Below decks she has traditional teak joinery and sleeps up to seven in four cabins, her fourth cabin being configured with a single bunk with a workbench. She is very well equipped with 200kg davits, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer, microwave, push-button electric heads, 8kW generator, air conditioning to the saloon and aft cabin, heating and watermaker. The current owner commissioned a refit when he bought her in 2016, and since then he has added new chart plotter and radar displays, and, notably, a new Yamar engine in 2019. Moy Toad is looking for her next owner to take her sailing!

  6. Oyster 46

    Oyster 46

    Ipswich, Suffolk
    2012
    £500,000

OYSTER 46 NEW LISTING Designed by Rob Humphreys, the 46 was conceived as the latest in a long and successful line of Oyster yachts in the mid-forties size range. Introduced in 2005 and in production until 2012, we launched 29 examples, all with the standard three-cabin layout. A versatile ocean cruiser, the 46 is a superb design, and one of the first to be graced with the g5 styling, which gives the deck saloon profile an attractive curved profile. The 46 has a powerful hull, with a long waterline and fine entry, gradually broadening to a wide stern which allows high-form stability and a sumptuous owner’s stateroom. The 46 is a great size for local family cruising but is also equally capable of long-distance bluewater cruising and liveaboard use. Her compact size promises straightforward handling for small crews and competitive running costs. Fritz is a 2012 example and the final 46 to be launched, still in her original ownership, she has benefited from a caring owner and presents beautifully. Her simple sloop rig with electric push button furling to her mainsail makes her easy to handle. Below decks, she benefits from maple joinery giving a light airy feel, and lovely cabin soles in walnut. She sleeps six in three cabins, with a further sea berth possible in the saloon.  Fritz’s owner has paid VAT in the EU, and it is our understanding that this could be retained if she is sold in EU waters. Now in Ipswich, UK, she is ready for viewings and is an opportunity not to be missed.
