The Big Bee is a documented vessel, (HIN: 260507) commissioned at the Arnold J Walker Shipyard in Pascagoula, Mississippi in 1946. Survey completed out of water in October 2024 (Above Average rating).
She worked as a Tugboat for over 40 years and was converted to a personal watercraft and completely restored in 2020.
Powered by two Cummins 6CTA-8.3, 425HP diesel engines, each engine is coupled to a D-1 Industrial Marine transmission with a 4.48 to 1 ration. Twin screw, counter rotating, 4 bladed propellors are 42" in diameter. The engines and the generator are keel cooled.
Electrical components: Shore power is 50A 220V and a 30A 120V. Ships power provided by a Kubota 17 KW generator and 6 8D AGM Batteries wired in series and parallel.12Vdc, 24VDC, 120VDC, 220 VAC and 208V 3 phase power.
Stateroom and crew room are provided conditioned air with brand new mini split systems.
