Monte Carlo MC6 video: first look
Alex Smith gets aboard the latest collaboration between Beneteau and Monte Carlo yachts – the Monte Carlo MC6.
It's hard to believe more than three years have passed since the Southampton Boat Show in 2011 when the first example of the ongoing collaboration between Monte Carlo Yachts and Beneteau – the Monte Carlo MC5 – was launched. The follow-up vessels have also been well received (see the full Monte Carlo MC4 review) and at this year's Dusseldorf Boat Show, boats.com reviewer Alex Smith got a first look at the 60ft Monte Carlo MC6, and sent back this video report.
The powder blue, tulip shaped hull is still the chosen display tone for the brand and the vessel on display also features plenty of natural materials throughout the interior. Alex particularly notes the wood and stone in the galley, which is located on the main deck, occupying one of the three levels that make up the interior.
The extra 2ft of beam and 10ft of length over the MC5 is used to expand the three-cabin layout aboard the MC6 rather than attempt to squeeze in a fourth cabin and reduce the space for everyone else. The third cabin aboard the MC6 is a twin rather than the bunk-bed arrangement aboard the MC5 and there is an extra heads compartment on the larger vessel as well.
