Designed specifically for a crowd of wakeboarders or waterskiers and their friends to go out for a blast, the Scarab 215 HO Impulse is all about the adjustable seating layout and the ability to adjust the shape of the wake from the helm position. What else do you need at 60 knots? Alex Smith gets aboard the flagship of the Scarab jet boat fleet.

Available in laser red, vivid green and sunburst orange, the Scarab website describes the 21ft-long 215 as "the ideal jet boat dream, and you never have to wake up...".

Premium touches throughout include recessed cleats, pearlescent fabric trim on the upholstery, easy to deploy stowable boarding ladder from the swim platform and stainless trim on the windscreen.

The aft seating converts into a sunbed, with a further two lounge seats in the bow. There is a ballast tank aboard to alter the pattern of the wake as well as electronic nozzle controls to aim the jets coming out of the twin 250hp Rotax engines to further fine-tine the towing experience.

Of course the powerboat industry has always been a favourite of the young at heart, so there's no shortage of fast, extreme rocket ships to compare with the Scarab 215. Try these for starters: Bad boys: 5 best Bond villain boats, Five brilliant “boy-racer” boats, Zego sports boat: big boy’s toy.
