The Hardy 40DS made its world debut at the 2014 London Boat Show. Alex Smith and the boats.com team took the opportunity to take a proper look around the new design in this Hardy 40DS video.

With Hardy under new ownership, we were pleased to see that the new owners have continued the brand's tradition of producing tough and durable distance cruisers. We saw the first evidence of this when we looked at the Hardy 62 last year.

The Hardy 40DS is the first boat completely designed and built under that new ownership, and it seems to be in a similar vein to previous models.

The Hardy 40DS is a development of the Hardy 42 (which is used for training by the RNLI). It is both modern and masculine in its looks - with a "monobrow" look to its cabin and battleship grey topsides. Altogether the Hardy 40DS is a serious powerboat boat for a serious powerboat cruising couple.
