Description
2,305 Catalina 36s were produced from 1982 to 2005. One of the most successful production runs for any mid sized sailboat. In 1994 the Catalina 36 Mk ll evolved with improvements to the original design fueled by market input.
The shorter spade rudder of the MK l was replaced with a deeper semi elliptical rudder on the MK ll resulting in improved handling and lighter helm pressure. The cockpit was wider aft and an added walkthrough transom really checked the boxes. The Universal 25 hp diesel of the Mk l was upgraded with the The Universal 35 hp. Multiple interior and exterior improvements were made to the MK ll.
Adding to the appeal of the Catalina 36 is the outstanding interior layout. Compared to other 36 foot boats in their class there is no comparison in the size and functionality of the Catalina 36.
