Created in 2003, the four-strong line-up, with models from 34 to 52 feet in length, has seen great success, and the new 50, due out in the autumn, is designed to build on that. It is the result of a renewed collaboration between the Beneteau motorboat design office, the architect, Michel Joubert and the designer Pierre Frutschi - and the most successful features of its predecessors are certain to be retained.

Swift Trawler 50

The new Swift Trawler 50

It will incorporate a very fluid flybridge line and a hull specifically designed for a pair of IPS 600 engines. It will also aim to offer all types of boaters sufficient adaptability to use the layout in a way that will match their favoured pastimes. When cruising, the IPS pods will considerably increase the boat's manoeuvrability, while long-distance sailors will appreciate the modularity of the dining space, beside the driving station, which can be converted into a watch bunk. You can also choose between three double cabins (six berths) or two double cabins together with an office and an extra bed (five berths).

If you want to see it in the flesh, visit the Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes or buy a ticket for the Southampton Boat Show in September. In the meantime, those in need of further details should visit www.beneteau.com.
