The Varianta 18 is the first of a new series of yachts from German yacht builders Hanse. The idea is to develop a line of simply-equipped yachts that can be fitted out for cruising or day sailing out on the lakes or on inshore waters. However, it must be said that there's nothing to stop you taking this boat further afield, as some owners have already demonstrated.

The Varianta 18 has a deep keel as standard, with a shoal keel option for those looking to use her for creek crawling. Priced at a budget £10k, she's very basic below decks, but you can add a small cooker or portable toilet depending on your needs. A great value, multi-functional boat that will suit a variety of people looking for an inexpensive small yacht.
