The unseasonal spate of gale force winds toward the end of last week didn’t just create mayhem for motorists and homeowners. It also wreaked a little havoc down on the south coast, where a £5million pound Sunseeker yacht just days away from completion was damaged at the company’s HQ in Poole by some collapsed scaffolding.

Crushed Sunseeker yacht

The scene generated plenty of interest from passers by who stopped to take snaps on phones and cameras, but Sunseeker reported that, despite appearances, the scene looked far worse than it actually was, with only a small section of scaffolding involved in the incident and little more than cosmetic damage to the 28-metre yacht’s topside mouldings. Nonetheless, with an expectant customer awaiting delivery and the yacht reportedly at the final cleaning stages, the world-famous British motorboat builder now has an unexpected addition to its workload.
