Powerboat training in the Ionian
Ionian Seafaris, a company operating RIB and boat charters from the Ionian Island of Kefalonia in Greece, is to offer powerboat training in 2012. As an approved school for international yacht training, the tuition will be delivered using a variety of boats of different lengths and power outputs, enabling the customer to get a proper feel for the kind of boat he most enjoys. And after training, the RIBs can be chartered to help provide a new boater with some proper solo time at the helm.
The local region is an ideal playground for the novice, with straightforward navigation, no tides and winds rarely in excess of Force 5. There are also plenty of beautiful islands to explore, plus warm seas, friendly harbour-front tavernas and lots of tranquil bays and fishing harbours. And with a new boat (a Solent SL 750 RIB with 225hp Evinrude ETEC) about to join the existing fleet, there should be plenty of choice in 2012. For more information, and to save 15 per cent on bookings made before the end of March, see Ionian Seafaris.
