Sailing Vessel “Offshore” is an aft-cockpit cutter-rigged bluewater cruiser that combines classic design with robust performance. Famously described by Bob Perry as having the “sweetest sheer I ever drew”, Tayana 52s were built from 1983 by Ta Yang in Taiwan and Offshore was built in 2000, as hull 70 of 72, and was sailed from the USA to Australia in 2011.  Recent adventures with the current owners include a Perth to Brisbane anticlockwise marathon and 6 months cruising around the beautiful tropical islands of Vanuatu and North Queensland.  Currently en route from Brisbane to Sydney.   Offshore is set up for short-handed stress-free sailing with an electric Lewmar 48 main halyard winch, two large Lewmar 66 winches for trimming head sails, single line reefing through to the cockpit, Side Power 95i bowthrusters for easing docking, a rock solid W-H hydraulic autopilot, reliable high speed Starlink internet, and generous 700L water and 650L diesel tank capacities.  An integrated keel (no bolts), skeg hung rudder, slab reefing with lazyjacks and a new massive 40kg Rocna Mk2 anchor further maximizes cruising safety and comfort.   Offshore combines a classic teak interior, a non-slip fiberglass deck exterior and varnished teak caprails to give owners the perfect balance of beauty and practicality.  Two aft cabins provide ample space for guests/crew with separate shower and head ensuites in the large forward master cabin ensuring owner privacy.  A gimballed Force10 oven with three gas burners on top, separate toploading fridge and freezers with digital temperature controls,  twin sinks with pressurized fresh and footpumped salt and fresh water, and lots of easily accessible secure storage makes cooking a breeze both at anchor and underway. Suitable for both families and couples, she provides everything required for a home on the water.   Offshore has been well maintained by the current and previous owners with significant system upgrades from the original factory build including a new 160hp Yanmar engine in 2018, Garmin chartplotter + instruments in 2023, 350W Victron solar power and Starlink connectivity in 2024.  Her last comprehensive maintenance haulout was in April 2025, comprising Antifoul/PropSpeed application, full engine and generator service, 3 replacement thru-hulls, new Tides Marine shaft seal and new Falcon Braid reefing lines.  Fully ready for new owner cruising from the day of settlement, in particular for those super adventurous types starting or continuing a global circumnavigation.

    £47,908

This unique and rare GULFSTAR 53 MOTORSAILER is an (enclosed) Center Cockpit Masthead Ketch designed by Vince Lazzara, originally of Columbia Yachts. One of only 27 built, this is the only one believed to be equipped with a Perkins Turbo Diesel T6.354 (380 hrs) with 165hp in the spacious walk-in engine room, instead of the standard 6-354 with 130hp. The Gulfstar 53MS has developed quite a reputation as the cruiser of choice for all types of Ocean conditions, perfect for the island hopping with a shallow draft keel (4.5’). While being 100% ICW friendly (63’ bridge clearance), long range cruising to the Keys, Bahamas, Bermuda, or Atlantic crossings are within reach due to her exceptional range, 500-gallon diesel tank, and sturdy thick molded solid fiberglass hull designed to take any conditions. While 10 kts (11+mph) is easily attained, a cruise speed of 6.5 kts gives a 2.5 gph burn rate (I consulted a math major who tells me this is 3+mpg). SAIL AWAY has recently undergone a complete interior refit featuring a roomy salon (15’ beam), LED lighting, work/office area, large settee, U-shaped dinette, 3 staterooms, 2 heads; with the master having a full-size bathtub/shower and a queen size bed. The boat has ice-cold air-conditioning, infrared heat, washer/dryer, and a full galley. A ProNautic 1250P 50 Amp, 12V, 3-Bank onboard Marine Battery Charger works wherever in the world you cruise. However long you stay in any port of call, the Power Factor Correction and Conservation Energy Saver Mode features of the ProNautic P will ensure maximum battery life and performance for all the batteries (Group 8D engine start, 4 deep cycle house, and the deep cycle dedicated for the windlass). There are also 810w solar panels for the time spent on the hook. Other features:• 3 enormous skylight hatches with covers.• Opening eye-level portholes with sunscreens all around.• Hullsonic Ultrasonic Antifouling - the hull cleaner does an amazing job at preventing growth from the hull & running gear.• Includes a 2009 Achilles 10’ Hard Bottom Inflatable Tender. Everybody knows that if you’ve got a sailboat, you won’t be moving faster than 5-6 kts, and a big powerboat will net you about .4-.5 mpg. A Motorsailer is an awesome “in-between” boat, delivering much better performance than a traditional sailboat and infinitely better economy than a powerboat. This is a U.S. Coast Guard Documented Vessel.
