Description
Adhara is a well maintained sloop from the drawing table of legendary Sparkman & Stephens naval architect firm. Known as S&S design #1959 she was built in the UK by Winfield and Sons, and imported to the US and sold as the Palmer & Johnson 34. This design was also the precursor to the Swan 36.
Just 2 owners. The current owner has had her for 16 years and continually maintained and upgraded her; New standing rigging (2018), New running rigging (2021), Transmission rebuilt in 2020, Furuno and Garmin electronics, Pelagic Tiller Autopilot, Hydrovane wind vane, 145 watts of solar, 2 new Harken 42 primaries in the cockpit - just a partial list of inventory and amenities. The Westerbeke has been diligently maintained and updated. Recent upgrades include new fuel lines and fuel pumps, new transmission and new fuel tank. The engine runs well and has good compression.
She is set up for single handed sailing, but easily will accommodate a couple. She is easy to sail and reef when necessary. She was designed and built to sail and race the British Channel. Her hull and bottom are in excellent condition. Owner has purchased a new boat. Asking 34,900.00 USD.
