“Trumpeter” offers fast performance under sail, sea kindliness, and ease of handling, comfort and timeless beauty. She has been very lightly used (only 695 total engine hours) on the cold, clean, freshwater of Lake Michigan.
Below decks, “Trumpeter” is light, airy and exceptionally commodious with 6-foot 2-inch headroom; a spacious, versatile salon; L-shaped gourmet galley; and bunk space for seven. Her quality is evident in solid stainless steel fittings, teak joinery, hand laid-up hull with glassed-in interior.
The forward cabin has 6’04” X 4’04” Pullman-styled double berth to port with shelf outboard and storage drawers and cabinetry under. To starboard there are cedar lined hanging lockers and a dressing table with mirrored cabinet and swing out seat. The screened deck hatch, 3 screened opening ports, reading light, domed overhead light and florescent fixtures keep in bright and comfortable.
The head is in the forepeak with a Raritan manual head & holding tank, fiberglass sink, pressure water, Formica counter top, mirror, cabinet, and storage shelves, dome light, florescent lighting and screened opening port. The separate shower stall is to port with a solar deck vent.
The salon’s starboard settee makes a comfortable 6’ single berth with storage under and behind. The port L-shaped dinette converts to a 6’02” double berth with storage under and behind and shelves and cabinets outboard. The table folds up on the bulkhead with storage behind. Good light and ventilation are provided by a dome light, three reading lights, three opening ports w/screens, Dorade vents, screened deck hatch, and the companionway. The interior grab rails make movement below decks safe and secure in a seaway.
The L-shaped galley to port has storage galore, double fiberglass sinks near center line, hot and cold pressure water plus foot pump, 11 gallon water heater, a large 11 cubic foot, insulated ice box w/Adler Barbour refrigeration, a gimbaled, two burner Galley Maid propane stove with oven and Samsung microwave. The trash bin is under a companionway step. Two opening ports with screens and the companionway keep the cook cool.
The outboard facing navigation station is to port just aft of the galley. There is additional storage under and outboard.
The “day head” is to starboard of the companionway with a double entry shared with the aft stateroom. The Raritan head is manual and discharges to the forward holding tank. The sink is fiberglass with Formica counter, mirror, cabinetry under and outboard. The faucet pulls out as a handheld. There is an opening port and deck hatch with screens.
The aft stateroom to starboard has a 6’07” X 4’04” double berth with cabinetry under, and a cedar lined hanging locker with counter top. Light and ventilation come from a reading light, dome light, deck hatch, hull opening port and another opening port into the cockpit foot well.
