Description

A well cared for Swan 53 which has travelled far and wide but always had the highest level of maintenance. She had a new teak deck in 2014 in this ownership along with lots of other wonderful updates. Her sailing performance speaks for itself.

Offered to co-brokers on a commission split of 50/50.

Broker's Comments

This particular yacht has been involved with our offices from her original launch. She was originally built for the Swan Charter fleet in St. Martin, and was used for only six months, in 1991, before returning to France - with little use until being sold in 1995. She was renamed SCOUNDREL, sailing in Scotland, South of France, Greece, Turkey, Sardinia, etc.

Her next owner sailed the yacht in the Med, over to Caribbean and up to the North East USA. She then decided to purchase a Swan 60, selling the yacht to a California owner who did a great deal of upgrading to the yacht, again sailing her the European/Caribbean routes.

Her next owner was from Philadelphia, loved the yacht, and went back and forth shorthanded between Annapolis and the Caribbean, selling her to purchase a Swan 65!
Her current owner has also sailed between Annapolis & the Caribbean, having the decks done in Annapolis in 2014, which was her second deck replacement.

Unfortunately, the yacht has been stuck in Puerto Rico, as her UK owner has been unable to travel to get to the yacht with COVID-19 restrictions. She is in a lovely marina in Puerto Rico, ready to cruise the Caribbean yet again.

Owner's Comments

MEZZA LUNA OF BATTERSEA has been a joy to own.

I have lived on board her for extensive periods of time, and she was unbelievable offshore. The boat is built to handle whatever Mother Nature can throw at her, and there were times when I was most thankful. Her keel depth can be a bit tricky, and you have to watch your dockage areas, but even in Annapolis, a notoriously shallow harbor, there was a place for MEZZA.

The layout works very well for a live aboard, with a very nice, large owner’s cabin aft with the centerline queen, curved settees on both sides and head. Good locker storage and plenty of ventilation.

The main saloon is slightly different than some 53’s, with the stbd side having full built in cabinets and shelving, with the u-shaped settee opposite.

Two guest cabins forward with upper & lower bunks, and then of course, the good size foc’sle area/sail bins for additional storage.

One of my favorite areas is the Caribbean, easy to make sailing friends, and with the amount of room on MEZZA, she is easily the yacht go to for the cocktail hour. MEZZA is able to carry lots of provisions, there are storage spots everywhere, and you don’t need more than two to go sailing. She is ready for another owner to take her over and continue her adventures.
