Description

The Nauticat 33, originally launched by the company in the late 1970's, is still in production today as a 331.  Although several upgrades and modifications have been made over the years, the 33 is sill known as the "Grand Old Lady", and over 1290 hulls have been built over the past 45 years.

ARTURUS has had new batteries and a new charging system installed in the past twelve months, and has been lightly used by the owner.  She is ready for a new adventure, and this go anywhere, do anything ketch will take you there in style.    Although the teak decks could use some attention, the solid glass decks of the Nauticat have prevented any leaks down below, leaving some cosmetic issues only.  Exterior teak handrails and trim are all in great shape.

Priced to sell, call now to see this classic motorsailer.

Accommodations

There are sliding glass panel doors on either side of the pilot house for getting below.  The pilothouse has two small settees aft and a stool for seating.  Electronics are housed in an overhead cabinet above the wheel.  A large nav area just to port of the wheel has commodious storage underneath a hinged lid for charts and ship's papers.

Stepping forward and down is the dinette (to port) and the galley (to starboard).  The dinette may be converted to a large double bunk by dropping the table and using the filler cushions.  Huge storage spaces are below both settees here in the dinette.  The galley has loads of counterspace for food prep, a large sink, microwave, two burner LPG stove with oven, and cabinets and bins for storage.   Instant, on demand water heater is here, too.

The "V" berth forward is spacious and well lit.  Storage abounds here as well with cabinets and bins for clothing and personal items.  Just aft is the head with a hand held shower, tile floor, and vanity.  A good sized mirror is on the inside of the head door.

Moving down and aft from the pilothouse is the owner's cabin.  A large Pullman double sits to port and a vanity sink under a swing-up lid is concealed in the aft starboard corner.  Just forward is the owner's head with shower, tile floor and hand pump toilet.

Large windows are covered with curtains but provide generous light throughout the living areas.  A large overhead sliding hatch over the steering station, plus the two sliding personal doors in the pilothouse brings the outside inside when desired.

Deck and Hull

The Nauticat is a well constructed, well regarded boat know for her strength and integrity.  The solid glass hull and deck are heavy, but strong, and without coring materials that can degrade, costly repairs are avoided.  The solid teak decks are laid down on top of the deck, minimizing areas that can leak.  Some bungs are missing here and the polysulfide caulking can use refreshing in areas.

The foredeck is well protected with bulwarks and hosts a large Lofrans Tigress windlass.  A 35# C-Q-R anchor sits on an anchor roller and has a chain and rope rode.  The heavy stainless steel frame for the anchor roller took some minor damage during Hurricane Irma, but is easily overlooked.

Teak handrails on top of the stanchions provide comfortable and safe walkways aft and gates amidship open for easy boarding.

The raised cockpit aft has two bench seats with cockpit cushions for passengers while underway, or for an al fresco meal.  The are is protected by side spray dodgers and a large bimini top. A Danforth 20# anchor is secured to the aft rail as a secondary anchor and an outboard bracket is nearby, but unoccupied.

The two masts are in good shape and the sails have been lightly used.  Running rigging is faded but serviceable, and the standing rigging appears to be in good shape.
