Saoirse is a lovingly cared for Nauticat 44 motorsailor with classic lines and a beautiful original wood interior with upgraded and modernized systems inside and out.
The pilothouse is spacious and has a 360-degree view. A huge owner’s cabin is well separated from the galley, pilothouse and forward cabin. Exceptionally large windows and hatches throughout brighten the wood interior and provide an open and spacious feel.
When the wind’s favorable, she sails comfortably with enough sail area for good speed even in moderate conditions. When the winds are contrary, the Ford Lehman diesel and a large fuel capacity provide reliable power and extended motoring range. At anchor there’s enough battery power for days without firing up the genset.
The interior arrangement lends itself very well to long term cruising or living aboard.
Saoirse was designed with several distinct areas, with form following function throughout, with the watchword being space and headroom.
Starting forward, there is a large V-berth with adjacent hanging locker and cabinets. A microwave is mounted on top of the cabinetry. Immediately aft to starboard is the forward head. To port is a large and very functional U-shaped galley with a gimballed 2-burner stove and oven, a double sink and ample counter space. Opposite is a 4.6 cubic foot refrigerator/freezer.
Moving aft is the salon, with a large U-shaped dinette opposite settee. This area is very suitable for a large gathering of friends for a good meal. A 28” Samsung TV is mounted above the settee. The settee drops down to a large, comfortable double berth.
Stepping up in the pilothouse one is surrounded by light, both from the 360-degree array of windows and the large overhead transparent hatch. The dashboard has room for a custom PC mount and radar, and also plenty of area for spreading out charts. The glass-enclosed electrical panel is on the aft face of the dash to port. There is of course a full steering station and Morse controls. A table with settees is to port and a custom fold up table is to starboard.
Stepping down into the aft cabin, there is a full queen-sized island berth, bookcases to port and starboard, and integral lighting. There are 6 opening ports to provide ventilation. The aft head is to port while a full sized shower stall is to starboard.
Storage can be found throughout the boat, from larger areas to myriad lockers throughout.
