Davis Instruments has launched a new Hand Bearing Compass that is designed to be easy to use, even by young novices. Readings are very simply obtained on land or water by aligning the front and rear sights of the compass on an object.

Kid friendly compassThe stable, liquid-damped compass card is graduated in five-degree segments, with bold markings every 15 degrees. A large handle and lanyard help simplify use and the illuminated model's LED facility floods the compass capsule and sight vane with soft light. It has already proved a great success among children taking part in the not-for-profit O'Neill Sea Odyssey program (pictured) so if you want to find out more, visit the Unipart Marine website.
