Galeon 430 Skydeck video
Alex Smith reports on the new Galeon 430 Skydeck – a concept that deserves to be more widely recognised.
July 31, 2014
The Galeon 430 Skydeck concept was a new one on us at this year's Dusseldorf Boat Show but the idea of taking the best features from the flybridge and the hard top paradigm and putting them together on a single boat caught the imagination.

By moving the flybridge aft and setting it quite deep above the aft end of the cockpit, the designers have magically created a sunroof above the helm station on the main deck and a perfectly usable flybridge station as well.
And all without really compromising the accommodation below decks. The cockpit is simply set on two different levels to deal with the low-hanging flybridge, but the natural light on this part of the main deck is also catered for with see-through panels built in to the structure of the bridge.
Work is already underway on the Skydeck versions of Galeon's 700, 560 and 820.
